Tribune Company says the federal bankruptcy judge handing its Chapter 11 cases has approved the “first-day motions” submitted with its bankruptcy filing. That means the company can continue to operate its businesses normally. That includes making payroll and maintaining employee health benefits. As reported by RBR/TVBR, Tribune employees were due $18 million in wages at the time of Monday’s Chapter 11 filing and normal payroll is nearly $80 million per month.
