No Asset Purchase Agreements have been submitted to the FCC in either a Form 314 or Form 345 filing since Wednesday. As such, TRANSACTIONS TODAY takes a look at several STA requests brought to the Commission’s attention. One involves Salem Media Group, while another is from an AM station in the Seattle market.
Seeking an STA from the Commission is Salem’s KHNR-AM 690 in Honolulu, which wants to operate at reduced power due to a transmitter failure.
Class B KHNR airs Salem’s conservative News/Talk programming under “The Answer” branding and is a 10kw facility using a tower in the Kaka’ako neighborhood adjacent to Ala Moana.
Also filing for an STA is Educational Media Foundation for its WFVL-FM 102.3 in Lumberton, S.C. It wants to operate on reduced power due to damage from Hurricane Florence.
Post-hurricane repairs have also led the owners of WLNR-AM 1230 in Kinston, N.C., to file for an STA. The station’s licensees are Estuardo Valdemar Rodriguez and Leonor Rodriguez.
Meanwhile, Hurricane Michael has already led Family Worship Center Church to request silent STAs for WFFL-FM 91.7 in Panama City and WGSG-FM 89.5 in Mayo, Fla.
Lastly, a delayed relocation of KKOL-AM in Seattle by Inspiration Media has led the licensee to seek an extension of its silent STA.
