A Class A commercial FM near Cleveland has been sold, while a big noncomm operator has closed on an Indiana FM set for a wattage boost.
South Shore Broadcasting, led by Lesley Kidner, has agreed to sell Class A CHR/Pop WQGR-FM “Cougar 93.7” in North Madison, Ohio to Lee Zapis’ Media One Holdings.
WQGR is already managed by the buyer’s Media 1 Group, targeting listeners in an area northeast of Cleveland that includes Ashtabula, Ohio.
Details such as the purchase price of WQGR and a broker, if any, were not included in the FCC application information made public on September 6.
BIG NONCOMM OPERATOR CLOSES ON INDIANA FM
Educational Media Foundation has closed on its $300,000 purchase of WFRW-FM 88.9 in Battle Ground, Ind.
EMF acquired the station, which serves the Lafayette, Ind. market, from Christian Radio Friends.
WFRW is presently licensed as a Class B, with 4.2kw. It holds a CP to increase its output to 50kw, expanding its signal to eastern communities including Kokomo, Logansport and Peru.
Greg Guy of Patrick Communications served as the exclusive broker in this transaction.
