The leading Republicans on the respective Senate Commerce Committee and House Commerce Committee have lashed out at the FCC over the Media Bureau’s Hearing Designation Order designed to answer key questions that will allow it to approve or deny Standard General‘s bid to acquire TEGNA.
On Wednesday evening, they wrote a letter to the Chairwoman of the FCC seeking answers to what they call — as do other prominent GOP figures and the NAB — an action “effectively blocking” the deal.
