The individual who leads the strategic direction and the National Media division of the E.W. Scripps Co. has just been elevated to EVP/National Media, from SVP/National Media.
The promotion is the latest career advancement for Laura Tomlin, who is focused on building growth initiatives across Scripps’ over-the-air and over-the-top television and digital audio portfolio — including millennial-focused news network Newsy, podcast
industry leader Stitcher, and Triton, the digital audio technology and measurement
services provider.
It was Tomlin who has been instrumental in the diversification of Scripps’ media interests, including her leadership in the 2018 acquisition of Triton.
Tomlin reports to Scripps President/CEO Adam Symson, who said, “Laura’s leadership and experience in operating media businesses in emerging marketplaces has made her an invaluable member of Scripps’ senior-most leadership team. She is a skilled operator – always looking ahead to take advantage of opportunities in a complex media environment. She smartly puts the consumer first, assessing our businesses through the evolving
needs of our audiences.”
Tomlin joined Scripps exactly nine years ago as Senior Manager/Recruiting. Before that, she was a Technology Director at Kforce, Inc.
