Tom Birch is best known as the 1980s-era founder/Chairman and CEO of Birch/Scarborough Research. Along with Ray Quinn, he later ran Opus Media Group and their group of radio stations from 1990 through 1999.

Birch is now known as the Man Who Toppled The Troublesome Translator.

Nine hours after receiving a Staff Letter from the FCC to immediately cease operations, as its Licensed to Cover was dismissed, Arohi Media LLC on Tuesday night officially complied and shut down FM translator W252DK, licensed to Durham, N.C.

That move proved to be a victory for Birch. What could happen if your station would up in a similar situation? In an exclusive interview with RBR + TVBR, Birch shares his thoughts on how a broadcast company can best react.
