TNT scores cable's biggest month ever

With the 2011 NBA Playoffs delivering record numbers, TNT utterly dominated the competition in May. The network scored the biggest month in cable history, with 3.6 million viewers in primetime. In addition, TNT set a record for cable’s biggest monthly delivery of adults 18-34 in primetime, with more than a million.
 
TNT’s record-breaking success comes as the network celebrates a May victory as basic cable’s #1 network in primetime delivery of viewers, households and all key adult demos.
 
TNT’s coverage of the 2011 NBA Playoffs now ranks as the most-watched in cable history, averaging more than 5.5 million viewers.
 
The explosive Bulls-Heat series averaged a Conference Finals cable record of 10.4 million viewers. Last Thursday’s Game 5 closed out the series with 10.4 million viewers, ranking as the night’s #1 program on all of television with viewers, households and key demos.
 
Four of the five Eastern Conference Final games on TNT ranked as basic cable’s top programs for the month, led by Game 1 with 11.1 million viewers. Overall, TNT’s Eastern Conference Final grew by 30-49% compared to the network’s Conference Final coverage from last year.
 
Through 23 nights of TNT Playoff coverage, TNT ranked as the top network on all of television 16 times with men 18-34, 11 times with men 18-49, six times with adults 18-34 and three times with adults 18-49.
