There is more to the life of a radio station than being able to state that its operating in the New York DMA – for example, there is the advantage of approaching listeners in the DMA with a somewhat greater total of Watts than 10.
Unfortunately, up-for-sale WPDI-FM Hazlet NJ has but 10 Watts to call its own.
The seller is WVRM Inc., headed by CEO Jaspal Suri.
The buyer is Cantico Nuevo Ministry Inc., headed by President Erick Salgado.
The price is $130,000, payable via a $10,000 escrow deposit and a $120,000 promissory calling for 24 monthly payments of $5,000 each.
WPDI-FM is a Class D on 103.9 MHz with 10 W @ 285’.
Technically, we’d probably have to consider this station part of the New York City market. But it isn’t a metro station by any stretch. It serves the area in and around Hazlet, which is south and across the water from Staten Island.
Buyers also own WNYG-AM Medford NY. It’s a Class D with 1 kW-D, ND, located on the south side of Long Island.
