ConnectedTVTime Inc. is creating an over-the-top video service anchored by People Magazine and Entertainment Weekly.

The new service will be advertiser-supported but free to users.

Content will be drawn from the magazines and their personnel.

With the offering in addition to other video initiatives, Time joins other legacy print media companies, like the New York Times, hoping to get new revenue streams from video, reports MediaPost.

Time is also launching a virtual-reality video initiative anchored by Life Magazine; that’s slated to launch in the fall.
