A new all-Sports offering on a 250-watt FM translator serving greater Cleveland arrived in early September, replacing a “throwback” hip-hop presentation focused on tracks from some 25 years ago. Now, iHeartMedia’s stations in the market are getting supercharged, as well as that mini-FM, thanks to a new partnership between iHeartMedia and Rock Entertainment Group.

The agreement brings the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers, along with the AHL Cleveland Monsters hockey club and Cleveland Charge NBA G-League franchise, to iHeartMedia’s properties across Northeast Ohio.

For the Cavaliers, games will air live on heritage Rocker WMMS-FM 100.7, the one-time flagship of Malrite Communications. They will also air on Class A News/Talk WTAM-AM 1110, which enjoys an FM translator at 106.9 MHz in Cleveland.

All Cleveland Monsters games will be found on W256BT, which became “SportsRadio 99.1” approximately six weeks ago.

Charge games will be heard on R&B and Hip-Hop W291BV “REAL 106.1,” which enjoys nearly the same signal contour as SportsRadio 99.1.

“It’s an honor to continue our decades-long partnership with the Cavs Operating Company and we’re excited to bring this innovative new partnership to life with Rock Entertainment Group,” said Keith Hotchkiss, Area President for iHeartMedia. “Combining this coverage with iHeart’s unparalleled reach of more than 90% of our markets, we’re excited to give sports fans access to the great coverage Rock Entertainment Sports will provide.”

In addition to carrying Monsters games live, SportsRadio 99.1 will provide fans with “enhanced access, expert analysis, exclusive team content, simulcast of select Rock Sports programming and coverage of additional Ohio-based sporting events.”
