Online Radio ‘Pureplay’ Gets Global With Ad Platform

A “pureplay” online radio service offering close to 1,000 music channels to what it claims are more than 1.5 million unique listeners per month has signed a multi-year deal with Global‘s digital audio advertising platform, DAX.

The arrangement makes DAX the exclusive sales partner in the US across all of AccuRadio’s national sales channels, including network radio, national spot radio, digital, and programmatic.

It’s a blow to SiriusXM, as AccuRadio was previously represented exclusively by Pandora.

According to Triton Digital’s Webcast Metrics Top 20 report, pureplay audio’s average active sessions (AAS) have grown “phenomenally” year over year and currently stand at 4.3 million.

AccuRadio average time spent listening is 2.54 hours per session, according to Triton — a duration it boasts is “three to six times as long as its competitors.”

AccuRadio is one of the last remaining pureplay services to join DAX’s roster. For AccuRadio, the deal opens the door for new brands to advertise on the platform and  measure the performance of their digital audio ad campaigns through DAX.

AccuRadio joins more than 180 other leading publisher brands that now sell inventory through DAX worldwide.
