It’s the home of “Michigan’s Positive Hits,” and today can be heard on 21 radio frequencies across the Mitten State.

Soon, a 22nd signal will be added to the mix, filling a hole that allows Smile FM to serve Huron County and the neighboring towns of Cagetown and Cass City.

Class A WCTP-FM 88.5, licensed to Cagetown, is being sold by Plonta Broadcasting.

The buyer is Smile FM, which will drop WCTP’s Southern Gospel programming and become a member of the Christian Contemporary facility’s network of stations.

Importantly, the transaction includes FM translator W286CI at 105.1 MHz in Saginaw, Mich. The 170-watt signal covers the entire city.

Terms of the transaction call for Plonta to transfer the FCC licenses to Smile FM within 35 days of the FCC’s approval of the deal, which will see Smile make a $25,000 donation to Plonta-associated Life in Christ Church.

Smile FM is led by Edward Czelada, while Plonta is fronted by Matthew and Crystal Gleason.
