LONG ISLAND CITY, N.Y. — Come April 1, the Chief Legal Officer at iHeartMedia will be pursuing a new opportunity outside of the company. Where is Jordan Fasbender going? Look no further than the properties Comcast will soon be spinning off from its NBCUniversal unit.

Jordan Fasbender has resigned from her role at iHeart, but is staying on through the end of March to assist in the transition to her as-yet unnamed successor.

According to an SEC filing, Fasbender’s departure is not related to any disagreements over company operations, policies, or practices, according to the broadcaster. However, RBR+TVBR has confirmed that Fasbender will be joining Mark Lazarus as General Counsel for SpinCo, the news, sports and entertainment-focused entity that will house such brands as USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel.

Previous executive leadership roles were revealed by SpinCo in January.

In an internal memo distributed Thursday by Lazarus and obtained by RBR+TVBR, he was “thrilled to announce another addition to the senior leadership team of our future new company.” He added, “As we continue to build our team and position ourselves to become a stand-alone publicly traded company, we are fortunate to rely on Jordan’s experience and advice on a wide variety of matters from the spin itself to the business affairs of evolving media assets.”

Fasbender had recently signed a new employee agreement with iHeartMedia, which would have extended her role through at least 2026 with automatic annual renewals beyond that date. That contract also expanded her title from General Counsel to Chief Legal Officer.

Fasbender joined publicly traded iHeartMedia at the end of 2020 as General Counsel, rising to her current role in November 2024. Fasbender’ expanded role also included retaining her duties as Executive Vice President and Corporate Secretary.

Fasbender previously served as Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel at 21st Century Fox. She began her career as an associate at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP.
