Country music in Southern California has long been popular, shifting from AM to FM radio and today heard on Mt. Wilson FM Broadcasters’ KKGO-FM in Los Angeles. Now, thanks to Get After It Media, Country music fans now have a broadcast TV home to enjoy their favorite tunes.

Digital broadcast channel The Heartland Network has launched over-the-air in the Los Angeles market on KBEH-TV 63.2.

It puts “The Heart of Country” on a Los Angeles DMA station owned by Meruelo Media and fills an unused DTV slot. Canal de la Fe, a Spanish-language religious network, is seen on KBEH-63.1.

The Heartland Network is a 24/7 digital television network focused on country music. Programming includes Music City Tonight, CountryLine TV, Bluegrass Ridge, and Country Fix and original shows More Than the Music and The Unseen World.

“Los Angeles is the No. 2 market in the country,” says Get After Media President Joel Wertman. “Putting The Heart of Country on the center stage in Hollywood is amazing. We’re thrilled to expand our partnership with Meruelo Media to bring viewers the best in country music entertainment, news, and lifestyle. Beyond adding this full-power affiliate, we’re also working on expanding our line-up with new, original, and compelling content – stay tuned L.A.”

Meruelo Media President/CEO Otto Padrón commented, “Adding The Heartland Network to the KBEH family was an easy decision. Given the quality, variety, and exclusive content, our viewers will immensely enjoy this network because there’s nothing like it in SoCal.”

With the addition of KBEH, Heartland will launch on cable in the Los Angeles market later this year. Spectrum is the dominant MVPD service, from Charter Communications.
