APRE-logoThe Association of Public Radio Engineers seeks session ideas for its conference this spring.

The group, along with sponsors, organizes the Public Radio Engineering Conference, which is in Las Vegas just before the spring NAB.

Dates for this year’s conference are April 14-15.

APRE President Dan Houg, who’s also chief engineer for Minnesota stations KAXE(FM), Grand Rapids and KBXE(FM), Bemidji tells RBR+TVBR: “We are looking for educational presentations that can integrate with the conference theme of the “Connected Facility” with focus areas on how broadcast facilities are connected to transmitter equipment and sites, monitoring, automation and traffic systems, remote broadcasts and recordings, and backup systems as well as other broadcast engineering topics.”

The all-volunteer group is asking readers to share their best practices, successes, innovations, and research to an audience of broadcast engineering and operational professionals.

Please submit ideas for a PREC presentation by Dec. 1 to [email protected] and include a short narrative of the topic and the expected presentation length. Presentations can be 30-60 minutes long and should be targeted towards engineering and operations staff.
