Ten minutes before Friday’s Closing Bell on Wall Street, The Wall Street Journal published a report that Apollo Global Management, the entity that conducted a private buyout of Cox Media Group and Northwest Broadcasting and also has a stake in Charter Communications — approached the company formerly known about Gannett about a possible sale.
TEGNA confirmed this on Wednesday, prior to the Opening Bell. But, it didn’t have much to say.
