Tacos, Ties and Treads: Cable’s Spot Story

0

When it comes to local spot action on cable TV channels, there are three clear categories that are among those most active in the latest Media Monitors Spot Ten Cable report.

Tacos and other variants of Tex-Mex quick service food are one of these categories, thanks to the reemergence of Taco Bell in this week’s Spot Ten.

The QSR ranks seventh, with 26,480 spots tracked at spot cable.

Then, there’s driving — and treads on the tires on still-snowy roads could cause an unwanted vehicular occurrence. If that happens, State Farm, GEICO, Progressive and Liberty Mutual Insurance want to help. The auto insurance category dominates the Spot Ten, with GEICO again a clear winner over No. 2 progressive.

Meanwhile, there’s a retailer that sells ties, and gave up on auto repair centers a very long time ago. That’s JCPenney, and they’ve returned to the Spot Ten thanks to 24,803 spots as tracked by Media Monitors.
