It may be headquartered in Frankfort, Ky., but it sure loves the Keystone State. Now, the Kristin Cantrell-helmed 7 Mountains Media is adding two more FMs in Pennsylvania, thanks to a deal submitted on Tuesday with the FCC for regulatory approval.
WMKX-FM in Brookville, Pa., and WJNG-FM in Johnsonburg, Pa., are being purchased by 7 Mountains Media through its Southern Belle licensee.
The seller is Strattan Broadcasting, which is earning $540,000 from the stations’ sale.
A $20,000 escrow deposit has been made to Strattan, which is headed by Nathan Sharp.
Class B1 WMKX is at 105.5 MHz and reaches the famed town of Punxsutawney, in addition to DuBois; Class A WJNG at 100.5 covers areas to the north of DuBois, including St. Marys, Pa. They are branded as “Mega Rock.”
With the Strattan pair, 7 Mountains adds to a roster of stations that includes WIFT-FM in DuBois.
