AFTRA says on its website that ballots mailed by members voting on the tentative contract agreement with the major studios must be received by today, so we don’t yet know whether the contract was approved or voted down. AFTRA leadership has been pressing members to vote for the pact and is clearly annoyed with the effort by another actors’ union, SAG, to persuade AFTRA members to vote no. Until the AFTRA outcome is known, there’s not likely to be any movement on contract talks by SAG and the studios.
