In the San Joaquin Valley of California, “Merced’s Rock Station” is a 250-watt FM translator licensed to Los Banos, rebroadcasting a Class B expanded-band AM in Merced.
Now, the FM translator is being sold. The buyer? The company that in October 2019 acquired that Merced AM.
Mighty Media Group is selling K289CB to the David Stephens-led Stephens Media Group.
A Form 345 filing made by counsel of record Joseph Chautin III of Hardy Carey Shautin & Balkin appeared in Tuesday’s CDBS posts.
The translator rebroadcasts KBRE-AM 1660, acquired by SMG via its acquisition of 37 stations from Mapleton Communications, in a deal brokered by Kalil & Co.
The deal is being triggered by a $3,500 option payment that came as part of Mapleton’s deal with SMG.
