Sinclair Broadcast Group has selected a Vice President and Associate Group Manager who will be responsible for the oversight of the company’s television stations in Raleigh-Durham, Mobile, and in three Florida markets.

He’ll be keeping his role as VP/GM of the company’s Mobile-Pensacola operations, which includes a shared service agreement with two broadcast stations.

That promotion was just one of many made by Sinclair as the New Year began.

In the first of the announcements from Sinclair, Cory Culleton is getting the promotion.

He’s currently in charge of Sinclair’s WEAR-TV and WFGX-TV in Pensacola, Fla., which serve the Mobile market to the west, and oversees Deerfield Media-owned but Sinclair-run WPMI-15 and WJTC-TV in Mobile.

With the promotion, Tallahassee and Gainesville will now come under Culleton’s purview, in addition to MyNetwork TV affiliated WRDC-TV and The CW Network affiliated WLFL-TV.

Culleton’s previous roles include serving until 2022 asVP and General Manager with oversight of providing services to WGFL/WNBW/WYME in Gainesville, Fla. He’s also been VP/GM of Sinclair’s FOX affiliate in the Georgia Coastal Empire: WTGS in Savannah.

Rob Weisbord, Sinclair’s Chief Operating Officer and President of Broadcast said, “With over 20 years of experience in television, digital strategies and advertising sales, Cory has a long history of success, and we are excited to have him expand his market oversight into Gainesville, Tallahassee and Raleigh.”

Culleton added, “It is a privilege to be expanding into the Florida teams in Gainesville and Tallahassee, and also Raleigh. I am humbled and excited to be a part of the great things happening at this group of stations and I am honored to have this opportunity.  I look forward to building relationships in all of these Sinclair stations and our local communities.”
