Time Warner Inc.’s shareholders have approved the company’s $56 billion acquisition of Charter Communications.
The action occurred at a special shareholder meeting on Monday.
The combination cash-and-stock deal was announced earlier this year.
If approved by regulators, the transaction would make Charter the number two U.S. Internet and cable company after Comcast Corp.
Earlier this month, the FCC began its 180-day shot clock to review the deal.
