LOS ANGELES — He is a former producer of the heralded ESPN Radio and ESPN2 Mike & Mike show, and also produced Mayhem in the AM, a show based at WQXI “790 The Zone” in Atlanta simulcast on Comcast Sports South TV.
Today, he’s firmly ensconced at Premiere Networks and has earned a promotion in which he will continue to oversee its sports programming and content, including FOX Sports Radio.
Now SVP/Sports Programming for Premiere Networks is Scott Shapiro.
He’ll continue to lead content strategy, while working closely with affiliate and advertising partners to identify promotional opportunities and maximize engagement across the network’s portfolio of multiplatform brands.
Shapiro continues to report to longtime iHeartMedia/Los Angeles executive Don Martin, who serves as Executive Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Sports. “Scott is a tremendous leader, incredible partner and wonderful friend,” said Martin. “I’m so proud of the talented family we have built on and off the air as we continue to produce the best
sports audio content the industry has to offer.”
Shapiro added, “I’m truly blessed to be working with such great people. [President of Premiere Networks] Julie Talbott and Don Martin are wonderful tone-setters who have set a world-class culture. The team I’m fortunate to work with on the air and behind the scenes inspires me on a daily basis to put my heart in and give this role my all.”
Shapiro joined Premiere Networks in 2015 as Vice President of Sports Programming. Prior to that, he served as Program Director of ESPN Radio, where he helped drive all-time peak
listenership and viewership for Mike & Mike and The Herd with Colin Cowherd.
