MIAMI — While there may be fans of the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs in the vicinity, the presence of such industry luminaries as NAB President/CEO Gordon Smith and Hearst Television President Jordan Wertlieb at the Mandarin Oriental on Brickell Key through Tuesday evening was simply a “super” coincidence.


Smith and Wertlieb were among those attending the NAB Joint Board of Directors meetings, where Democratic FCC Commissioner Geoffrey Starks delivered an address on what it means for broadcasters to adequately serve the public interest in the 21st Century.
