Seller will maintain a presence on Wisconsin FM

SoldAllen J. Johnson is selling WSRG-FM Sturgeon Bay WI into a duopoly with WLGE-FM in nearby Bailey’s Harbor WI, but the transaction contract contains language that will continue Johnson’s relationship with the station for four years after closing.


The relationship will be that of client – Johnson is entitled to $10K worth of advertising time on the station. Johnson’s license company is called Al Johnson Broadcasting LLC.

The buyer is Case Communications LLC, owned by Michael and Carrie Mesic.

The price of the station will be $420K, counting the advertising credit. Case will put $20K into escrow and pay an additional $390K in cash at closing.

WSRG-FM is a Country outlet known as The Big Dawg. It’s a Class A on 97.7 MHz with 1.85 kW @ 597. It serves an unrated portion of Wisconsin located on a peninsula on the shores of Lake Michigan, to the northeast of Green Bay.

WLGE-FM The Lodge plays Rock. It’s a Class A as well, on 106.9 MHz with 6 kW @ 184’. Its contour is similar to that of WSRG.
