At the end of October, he’ll be celebrating 46 years in the radio business … hopefully as a new retiree. He tried once before, but that attempt 2 1/2 years ago was unsuccessful. Will this second goodbye prove to be the trick for Bruce Law?
It sure sounds like it, based on a LinkedIn post the radio industry veteran who serves as Director of Radio Operations for Griffin Media in Tulsa shared.
Law noted how, for a couple of years, he strayed into an advertising and marketing venture. But, he quickly returned to his “first love” — broadcast radio.
“Pretty much my whole life has been in this amazing industry — 46 years of hard work, relocation and the absolute pleasure of working with some of the most talented and fun people in America,” Law said. “October 24 will mark my second attempt at full retirement. After an unsuccessful first attempt at ‘semi-retirement,’ I was wooed back to an awesome company. I’m proud to call Griffin my last stop.”
Law took the role at Griffin Media in June 2023, some 18 months after exiting Cumulus Media’s 10 stations in Grand Rapids and Muskegon, Mich., as VP/Market Manager. From May 2015 to January 2022, he was President/GM of Saga Communications’ Asheville, N.C., radio stations.
Law has also worked for Backyard Broadcasting, serving as a VP/Market Manager in East Central Indiana from August 2007 to March 2011.
