NEW YORK — Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS) has just promoted its VP/National Sales Manager overseeing its two audio properties serving the home of the 2026 National Basketball Association Champions to the role of General Manager.

Earning the promotion is David Bailin, who will now oversee WSKQ “Mega 97.9” and WPAT “93.1 Amor” in the New York market; WPAT is licensed to Paterson, N.J.

“David has been an invaluable member of the SBS family and has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication throughout his tenure,” said Richard D. Lara, SBS’s Chief Operating Officer. “His deep understanding of the New York market and his ability to build strong teams make him the ideal leader for this critical role.”

Bailin added, “SBS has an incredible legacy in the New York market, and I look forward to working with our talented team to continue delivering outstanding content and value to our audiences, advertisers, and community partners.”

Indeed, WSKQ has proven to be one of SBS’s most valuable assets and is arguably one of the most listened-to Spanish-language radio stations in North America; its streaming audio regularly puts it at No. 1 among digitally delivered broadcast FMs in the U.S.

Until joining SBS/New York in May 2018, Bailin was Sr. VP/National Sales for Entravision Communications. He began his career in radio in March 2000 as an Account Executive for Emmis Communications, and has also held sales roles for CBS Radio in New York; Cumulus Media in New York; and at both Sun Broadcast Group and Westwood One.
