She is returning to Nexstar Media Group after serving as Director of Sales at The E.W. Scripps Co.’s WRTV-6 in Indianapolis since 2019.
And, this longtime broadcast TV sales professional will be taking the role of VP/General Manager for the company’s stations in the Illinois cities of Champaign and Springfield.
Taking the top role for WCIA-3, the Nexstar-owned CBS affiliate in the market, and MyNetwork-affiliated sibling WCIX-49, is Angie Salas.
From 2012 to 2019, Salas served as Director of Sales for Nexstar’s stations in the Quad Cities, Iowa-Illinois market, DMA No. 104. The company’s stations there include CBS affiliate WHBF-TV, The CW O&O KGCW-TV and digital multicast offering THIS Television.
Salas reports to SVP/Regional Manager Traci Wilkinson, who comments, “Angie is an ideal fit for this role, and we are thrilled to be welcoming her back to Nexstar. Her experience in Indianapolis and at our Quad Cities stations clearly demonstrates her ability to deliver. She is a forward-thinking leader with a history of enhancing broadcast and digital operations through strategic leadership and team development. I am looking forward to working with Angie as she takes on this new role.”
