Roman Rises To Support Lara At TelevisaUnivision

On Thursday (5/25)RBR+TVBR exclusively shared the news that Diane Kniowski is retiring from her role as President of U.S. Local Media at TelevisaUnivision, and that Jesus Lara was being promoted to absorb her duties, putting him a key leadership role for both radio and television stations in the U.S.


It is now known that the company’s Regional President for the eastern region will be supporting Lara by taking on all revenue-generation responsibilities across the linear and digital properties serving U.S. Hispanics.

Seasoned marketing and sales professional Antonio Roman has been elevated to EVP of Local Media Sales. He will oversee all revenue for TV, radio and digital and report to Lara, now President/Local Media while all of the local sales executives will report to Roman.

Roman has been associated with Univision since 2001, when he became Local Sales Manager of KMEX-34 in Los Angeles, the company’s West Coast flagship station. Roman then rose through the ranks, holding the roles of VP of Marketing & Business Development; Sr. Account Executive of Network Sales; VP of Network Sales; SVP of National Sales for the Univision Television Group; and SVP of Local Media/New York Sales. He earned his most recent role in January 2020.

Roman is a Puerto Rico native and a graduate of Universidad del Sagrado Corazón in San Juan. He is also a 2020 Broadcast Leadership Training Class graduate.
