The trustee overseeing the Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation of a small-market radio station operator with a presence in rural New Mexico and Nevada has given his affirmative nod to the sale of the properties. Who the buyer is may turn heads, as it is none other than an individual linked to the fiscally crippled seller.
An asset purchase agreement finalized on August 11 but not submitted to the FCC for its regulatory approval until now sees Global One Media bid farewell to its three FM translators and seven full-power stations by selling them to Aegis Media Holdings.
The sale order, approved by a Nevada federal bankruptcy court, effectively allows Natalia Hudson to become the owner of the following properties:

Serving as a Director of Aegis is one Rich Hudson — the principal behind Global One Media.
For Natalia Hudson, a bargain price of $80,000 was accepted by the court and the trustee. A $60,000 deposit has agreed to. A $5,000 payment will then be paid at closing, with subsequent $5,000 payments due 30 days, 60 days and 90 days after the closing date, respectively.
The deal signed off by the bankruptcy court marks the second attempt to keep the stations in Hudson family control. An earlier attempt to purchase the stations crumbled, as there was a default under its terms, resulting in a forfeiture of an initial $50,000 deposit.
Now, a fresh deal involving other Hudson family members has come to fruition, and its lower valuation reflects the exclusion of real estate associated with the stations, eliminating $250,000 from the Hudsons’ tab.
With Aaron Shanis of Shanis & Peltzman serving as legal counsel to the Commission, Global One Media in mid-May placed all of its broadcast assets in the hands of Shapiro, who is based in Las Vegas. The move concluded Global One’s ownership of the stations, as a Nevada federal bankruptcy court ordered Rich Hudson’s company to liquidate its assets in order to settle creditor needs.
The main creditor of Global One is Newtek Small Business Finance LLC.
It did not prevent Rich Hudson and his family members from creating a new entity and acquiring the stations from Global One, which converted a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing made in February 2024 to a Chapter 7 bankruptcy exactly one year ago.
Hudson entered radio station ownership after serving since February 2017 as the President of Studio 1 Production, based in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, with the purchase of KRMQ-FM, KSEL-AM & FM, and KSMX-FM from Rooney Moon Broadcasting for $1.1 million. The deal was announced in July 2022 and brokered by Hadden & Associates.
That transaction followed a deal struck in February 2022 with Ken Sutherland‘s Ruby Radio Corporation giving Global One ownership of KHIX-FM, KBGZ-FM, and KUOL-FM — plus the three FM translators — for $1 million.
