Reports of strong sales by the nation’s retailers energized the stock market on Thursday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 107 points, or 1%, to 11,362. Strong retail sales are good for radio and TV ad sales, so broadcast stocks had a happy day. The RBR Radio Index was up 4.477, or 1.6%, to 279.472. The TVBR Television Index was up 1.327, or 0.7%, to 206.213.
