The “Local First” digital advertising and marketing company with radio stations in markets ranging from Buffalo to Bangor, Me., has signed its latest strategic digital advertising partnership. It is with a privately held owner of radio stations in markets ranging from Jacksonville to Pittsburgh.
For Townsquare Media, the partnership brings it access to markets where it does not own stations while benefiting the digital dollar growth for new partner Renda Media.
Renda, led by CEO Tony Renda Sr., owns market-leading Adult Contemporary WEJZ-FM and Country sibling WGNE-FM in Jacksonville; and four stations led by Tony Renda Jr. in Southwest Florida — WWGR-FM “Gator Country”, Adult Hits WJGO “102.9 BOB FM,” and Collier County-focused Hot Adult Contemporary WSGL “Mix 104.7” and Talk WGUF-FM 98.9.
In addition to the two Florida markets, Renda has a four-station group in Indiana, Pa.; WHJB-FM in Greensburg, Pa.; three stations in Punxsutawney, Pa.; and the Gary Spurgeon-led Adult Contemporary WWSH “Wish 99.7” in Pittsburgh.
“We’re excited to partner with Renda Media to bring our market-leading digital advertising solutions to their expansive client base,” said Todd Lawley, President of Townsquare Ignite, the publicly traded company’s Digital Advertising division. “Our success stems from a deep expertise in leveraging our proprietary in-house programmatic platform and data-driven strategies to deliver measurable value. Through this partnership, we look forward to equipping Renda Media with the tools, insights, and proven strategic approach needed to strengthen their digital capabilities and accelerate client growth.”
Townsquare launched its Media Partnerships arm in 2024, with SummitMedia signing an agreement. The addition of WWSH gives Townsquare Ignite an additional station in Pittsburgh, as it signed an agreement in January 2025 with Steel City Media allowing it to work with its WRRK “BOB FM 96.9” and WLTJ “Q92.9” in the home of the Three Rivers.
Specifically, the Media Partnerships division provides Townsquare’s partners a white-label service that equips them with the digital advertising solutions that have fueled Townsquare’s own growth and success, as Digital now comprises more than 50% of Townsquare’s total revenue and profit.
The senior Mr. Renda commented, “Years ago, I heard of a radio company that was getting more involved with the digital business. Through the years, I have watched and admired Townsquare as they grew their digital business into a media leader. Renda Media is proud to announce our partnership with Townsquare. They bring years of digital experience, knowhow, and professionalism to this partnership.”
With this alliance with Renda Media, Townsquare now has six media partners, reaching 19 incremental markets that do not overlap with Townsquare’s own footprint. Through this partnership, Townsquare will share its expertise and resources with Renda Media, focusing on customized, data-driven strategies that meet the unique needs of local, regional and national businesses, helping Renda Media grow its digital business alongside its respected broadcast presence.
