Lessons Learned From Covering Wall Street: Rebecca Jarvis’ Total Forecast

Covering Wall Street for two decades can yield unique insight and plenty of conversation starters as to lessons learned from the “Great Recession” and the AI boom. ABC News Chief Business, Technology and Economics Correspondent Rebecca Jarvis has seen it all, and on November 12 at the Harvard Club in the City of New York, she’ll share what she has gleaned in an exclusive Forecast 2027 conversation with a colleague.

An Emmy Award-winning journalist who reports across Good Morning America, World News Tonight with David Muir, Nightline, 20/20, and This Week, Jarvis’ stories have ranged from the global financial crisis of the late 2000s; the Bernard Madoff scandal; and the rise of crypto, “Big Tech,” and artificial intelligence. She’ll share what she has gleaned from covering the U.S. financial markets over the last two decades in the session “The View from the C-Suite: Lessons Learned from Two Decades Covering Disruption, Recessions, and Reinvention.”

This sees Jarvis converse in a no-press-allowed setting with ABC News National Correspondent Steven Portnoy.

“There are few reporters in our business who have covered business the way Rebecca Jarvis has,” Portnoy said. “She has seen it all and talked with all the players. I can’t wait to pick her brain about what’s she’s learned and what her reporting tells us about the evolving economic factors and challenges consumers and financial markets currently face.”

Before joining ABC News, Jarvis was CBS News’ Business and Economics Correspondent and spent three years at CNBC covering markets from the New York Stock Exchange and New York Mercantile Exchange. Jarvis also co-created The Dropout, which detailed the rise and fall of Theranos and Elizabeth Holmes. She also hosts the “No Limits with Rebecca Jarvis” podcast.

Join us at Forecast 2027, set for November 12 at the Harvard Club of the City of New York. Forecast limits seating to keep the room intimate, so secure a seat via the Forecast website.

Forecast is closed to press, so these conversations will not be posted online or covered in our headlines the next morning.

Now in its 24th year, Forecast brings together station owners, CFOs, group executives, and Wall Street analysts for a full day of data-driven sessions on the business of radio and television. Angela Yee and Fred Toucher will MC.
