Early this week, Beverly Brannigan departed SummitMedia — a move viewed as surprising to many in Country radio.

On Friday, it became known that she’d been replaced. The individual now serving as the company’s SVP/Programming will assume her duties, and program a Country music station in Knoxville.

Now PD of WCYQ-FM “100.3 the Wolf” and in the bigger role of SVP/Programming is Randy Chase.

He is a Cox Media Group Country veteran who most recently was VP/Radio for Educational Media Foundation, parent of the Christian Contemporary Music KLOVE and Air1 formats.

Chase reports to SummitMedia EVP/Programming Bill Tanner and his longtime business compatriot, SummitMedia Chairman/CEO Carl Parmer.

Parmer said, “Randy’s experience across all formats and his passion to serve our listeners make him an excellent addition to our team. His ability to innovate in our industry and drive consumer engagement are attributes we are particularly excited about.”

Tanner added, “We are very pleased for Randy to join us and confident his experience will enhance our ability to serve our audience.”

Chase commented, “The opportunity to join SummitMedia and its leadership team is a privilege. I’m excited to get back to my Country roots and partner with the programming team to grow the Summit brands to real powerhouses in their markets.”

Chase will be based in Knoxville.
