Radio One has promoted the VP/GM of its Atlanta radio stations to a Regional Vice President position.
The move gives Tim Davies —a nine-year veteran of the Urban One radio division’s Peachtree City stations—new duties that now include Reach Media, the radio programming syndication arm of publicly traded Urban One.
Radio One has four radio brands in the Atlanta market: Hot 107.9, Majic 107.5/97.5, Boom 102.9 and Praise 102.5.
“Tim is a proven market leader that has been consistently progressive in his business acumen, sales strategy and people management skills.” said Reach Media and Radio One CEO David Kantor. “His steadfast leadership has continued to position our local stations and nationally syndicated shows to win. It’s a pleasure to announce his well-deserved promotion.”
With his RVP role now affirmed, Davis will oversee four Reach-syndicated shows: The Rickey Smiley Morning Show, The Ed Lover Morning Show, The Willie Moore Jr. Show and The Nightly Spirit with Darlene McCoy.
Davies will also oversee the filming of Dish Nation TV and such local cluster events as “Birthday Bash” and the Gospel-oriented “Praise in the Park.”
Davies was named by Radio Ink as one of its 2004 Market Managers of the Year and again in 2012, when Davies ranked on the Streamline Publications magazine’s Top 50 Market Managers of the Year list.
