It’s gained a reputation as “the only competition exclusively devoted to radio and audio” and in 2022 celebrated its 30th anniversary.

Now, the awards established in 1992 to encourage and reward the development of effective and creative radio commercials are accepting entries.

Twenty-four trophies will be awarded in 20 categories, and the final round judges will have the option to award a Best of Show winner at the 2023 Radio Mercury Awards.

For 2023, new and revised categories have been introduced to expand the opportunity to win. This includes a Local Market Broadcast Radio Commercial: Agency, Production Company and Advertiser and Local Market Broadcast Radio Commercial: Radio Station or Group.

Additional new categories that have been added include use of innovation in broadcast radio or short broadcast radio commercials, podcasts and multi-platform campaigns with broadcast radio. For a full list of categories, click here.

In addition, information about the Student-Produced Radio Commercial category will be released at a later date. Entries into this category are free.

The Call for Entry deadline is Monday, April 10, 2023.

Finalists for the show will be announced in early May and winners will be announced at the live Radio Mercury Awards at SONY HALL in New York.

The annual Radio Mercury Awards competition draws entries from advertising agencies, production houses, radio stations and educational institutions across the country. Approximately 21,000 commercials have competed in the Radio Mercury Awards and close to $3.5 million in prizes have been awarded over the past 32 years. The Radio Creative Fund (RCF), a nonprofit corporation funded by the radio industry, governs the Radio Mercury Awards. The Radio Advertising Bureau produces the Radio Mercury Awards.
