It’s a Class B AM with 5kw during daylight hours and 500 watts after dark and serves towns and cities due south of Music City U.S.A. It also has an FM translator, giving it some “revitalization.”

Soon, both will be in the hands of Radio Maria.

Maury County Boosters Corp. is agreeing to sell WMCP-AM in Columbia, Tenn., and FM translator W255DK to the entity led by Carlo DiMaggio.

He’s the President of Radio Maria USA, a part of a worldwide network of Catholic radio stations founded in 1987 “as an instrument for the New Evangelization under the patronage of Mary, the Star of Evangelization.”

DiMaggio signed off on a purchase agreement setting a $405,000 price for WMCP and W255DK.

A $20,250 deposit has been made to the seller, led by Edna Williford.
