“Quinn and Rose” loss at WPGB gets big response

1. p.s. – It’s also an insult to the intelligence of the Quinn & Rose listeners! Who really wants to listen to someone with the name “Bloomdaddy!”

2. Trying to figure out what to do with my morning. It won’t be listening to 104.7 or any other 104.7 programming until Jim and Rose return. Big, big mistake.

   • I agree with Maximus! (Of course that is what some might say Clear Channel is, one great big Gluteus Maximus!) As a former Pittsburgher, I used to enjoy listening to WPGB on the internet or through my iPhone. It helped me maintain a connection with Pittsburgh, but I refuse to listen to any WPGB programming until they restore Quinn and Rose to their rightful place, back on the air in the early morning drive time.

   • I absolutely agree with you……….wouldn’t listen to 104.7 if they were the last station on the air

3. As a long time listener using wi-fi radio, mornings have gotten tougher. I have tried the daybreak show from Estero, FL, WISN from Milwaukee & KCMO from Kansas City, & although there are good conservatives on the air, no-one does the kind of research that backed up Quinn & Rose’ program. I still have WPGB preset because Glenn Meacham seems to still be on , on weekend mornings.

4. I was disappointed when Quinn & Rose weren’t on last Monday morning, and seriously underwhelmed by their replacement. When I learned Clear Channel took them off the air, I was, and still am, outraged. WPBG is off my radio and I won’t spend a single penny with any of their advertisers.

   I have to believe this was not a decision based on pure economics. Did CC cave to government pressure because Q&R dared to critisize the Dictator? I wouldn’t put it by these scumbags.

   • I could not agree more. Obama is such a narcissist he cannot take criticism and Quinn & Rose kept the public informed as to what he was up to. Another attempt by this administration to silence talk radio. Can’t wait till he gets out of office, but 3 more years for him to wreck havoc on this nation. I am convinced he was not born in the US and is a fraud, should be booted out as he is not entitled to be in office. I can’t seem to find anyone who will admit to voting for this fraud.

     • Explain to me how it was an attempt by the administration, when Clear Channel clearly chose to do so on their own? If you can’t factually prove these statements, they’re extremely unfair to the company and to the listeners to make.

6. I have written several emails to Quinn right from the start of Clear Channel’s blunder. Bloomdaddy? Really? Are you kidding Clear Channel? I thought you guys were heros and championed defending this country. You’re nothing more than bottom feeders now and I suppose you were all along.I no longer have 104.7 as a selection on my car radio. Jim and Rose, I hope to hear you on another station REALLY SOON!

7. Well, Quinn and Rose weren’t gonna change the system by themselves. Traditional Americans have to stay aware and active. The Rinos and the Dems are both for more government control in some ways, but voting for the lesser of 2 evils is still the best option, IMO. To change things it will take a long, sustained effort over decades probably. The liberal socialists aren’t gonna give up. The liberal education system has to be overhauled, for one thing. Traditional Americans may even need to have more children to combat the invasion of immigrants, if we can afford healthcare and taxes… Gotta develop a “louder voice” with national awareness and information. The system is layers and layers of messed up, and the change ain’t happenin overnight.

8. When I got into my car to go to work last Monday, I didn’t hear Quinn and Rose. I didn’t even hear one of their substitutes, thinking it was a vacation week for them. I heard some guy talk about things that I wasn’t interested in hearing, much less the fact that I really didn’t like how he came across. So, since then, I have been going way out of my way to stay away from 104.7 – Pittsburgh. Thank God it is the start of the Christmas season, so that I can listen to Christmas carols on my way to work.

9. Mornings without Quinn and Rose stink. Clear Channel, you made a mistake. If you don’t want your ratings to tank and everyone to stop listening to your radio station, fix it. Quinn and Rose have such rare qualities and talent that they not only come across likeable, they express themselves in an informed humorous way. GET THEM BACK ON THE AIR!!!

12. What are you thinking? The only reason I listen to 104.7 is for the insights from Quinn and Rose. I have noted time and again that they are ahead of the curve on relevant topics. It almost seemed as if Rush got some of his show prep from them. That sound you hear is me changing my presets in the car and in my office.

I never ceased to be amazed at the stupidity with people and how they behave and think….Talk about ” chopping off the hand that feeds you”,,,Quinn & Rose at Warroom.com was the top morning radio show in the entire Pittsburgh , Pa. market with similar results in the “out of state markets “it was broadcast to, it was probably your highest revenue producing show also,,,,,, and yet,,, YOU, CLEAR CHANNEL,,,, take them off the air,,,,,,, Absolutely Stupid….I’m sure that the replacement …”BoomDaddy” will be accepted by some ,,but he is not what I want to listen to hear….nor his politics,,,,unfortunately you have lost a regular & longtime listener,,,,If this company “wakes up” and re-instates the program,,,then I will be back,,,or search for a new station that will host Jim & Rose in their new adventure…Mitch Abraham

15. I too have listened to Quinn and rose on 104.7 and years before that. At least 20 years. My family listened friends listened…I am lost. The guy in their spot is a loser.

    Wow… Alan! You could put an end to all of this just by showing that the Quinn and Rose program was not a good business plan. That is, was it bringing in the revenue expected and if not do you have a replacement program that will? That being said, how are the Bloomdaddy numbers adding up?

    I’m not privy to the internal numbers for the negotiations.

    I can tell you this much – talk radio as a whole is dealing with the issue of demographics – each station in a cluster (CC Pittsburg includes WDVE, The X, etc.) has to perform as best as is possible for the desired demographic.

    I’m not denying Q&R got decent numbers – nor that they have an obviously loyal following. But it makes no sense that this is about “politics.” – Madden on the X can be edgy and controversial – and he’s not being canned. 104.7 continues to carry conservative programs. Clear Channel owns more conservative talk stations than anyone, and you can count on one hand the number of “progressive” stations they run – last I checked, it was THREE. Out of hundreds of talk stations they own.

    It’s a combination of factors – the demographics for WPGB rate almost completely 55+. No other station in the cluster skews that old. Q&R are an expense on top of the syndicated shows that CC gets a great deal on because they carry them on a large number of stations and have negotiation power. If Q&R are asking CC for amount X and CC needs to cut amount Y from the budget, and they can’t agree on a number – and Q&R aren’t projected to bring in the amount of ad dollars to justify their ask – not just in the short term, but years out, then CC has to make the decision to let them go.

    Talk radio in general, left or right, doesn’t attract new listeners. Our numbers show that in the radio business – and it’s not about being conservative or liberal. It’s about the fact that the talk format in the style most predominant – conservative, attracts a mostly older audience. We have to grow our properties – now where are new listeners going to come from? There aren’t a lot of 18-34s, or 34-55s coming in to replace the 55+ dominant group. WPGB is currently at a 3.6 percent share in the market. In five years, there’s no way it will be even that high.

    It’s also not that Bloomdaddy is likely to “win” in the ratings. That isn’t the point. The point is it’s cheaper to throw him a little extra bonus money to simulcast his existing show than it is to pay 2 people (Q&R) AND Bloomdaddy. If Bloomquist at least maintains a decent share for WPGB and costs them less, then the numbers on the spreadsheet are going to be tempting to someone at CC.

    Remember too, CC overpaid by MILLIONS for radio stations during the consolidation era. They are all about cutting the costs and overhead wherever they can. They’ve fired 800 people in one day before. This isn’t news to the industry.

    I realize all of you posting here are passionate about your political beliefs, and your programs. But don’t give into fear and conspiracy. Remember – Conservative media is huge. Fox News. The Blaze. Thousands of websites. MOST radio stations that air talk – including most Clear Channel ones. If you lose a show, it’s probably not Nathan Daschle’s fault. It’s old fashioned, trim the budget, consolidated corporate radio.

    All of us in the business, music or talk, have lost something we love because of it. And it stinks. But it’s not the FCC – it’s the free market making this happen, love it or not.

    • Yes Mr radio expert I understand it now,your station and all stations are having trouble getting the younger audience they all think they need to keep their share from slipping so it’s just not worth it to try and keep the audience we have so we’ll just blow them out overnight, make them “mad as hell”, bring in good deal Bloom Daddy and watch the sponsors and the share dwindle. I don’t know radio but I was in sales for 30 years and there were new markets and customers I wanted to target but my “ducks” were always at the front of my book. We are cynical, but why wouldn’t we be with all the crony capitalism,deceit and fraud being hoisted on us these days. Quinn and Rose spoke the truth and I know that can be very dangerous to a career in any field.

        My only point is, there’s business reasons. Maybe if some of you took the time to understand that, you wouldn’t be on here bashing broadcasters with unfounded attacks about being in bed with “commies” and Daschle somehow programming our radio stations for us.

        It’s insulting to a lot of us who work very hard at our jobs within the marketplace and business picture we’re faced with.

        • What was the business logic in replacing Q&R with bloomdaddy? I’d be surprised if he lasts a year. Yes, we are suspicious of you–trying to use words like marketplace,capitalism and business when you know nothing about it. The reason you don’t (if you are indeed speaking for WPGB) is you got rid of a good product that people like with no prior warning that it was going to happen and pissed off a lot of people that would otherwise be paying customers. WPGB and CC will not last long doing this. Your own job with them is in jeopardy, my friend.

          • Actually Alan’s post makes sense. It fits in with the stories regarding Rush and Sean’s dealings with Premeire. The entertainment field is no different than any other field. They do not care about substance or content. It’s all about the cash. And if Quinn and Rose wanted more of it to re-sign, and the numbers didn’t add up for the company, they are toast.

            Bloomdaddy won’t be the long term solution. If they were thinking along those lines there would be some promotion. They may even bring back Quinn and/or Rose. For the right price. If not, they will just wait until everyone calms down and hire new people. For the right price. Long live capitalism!

      I understand you loved the Quinn and Rose show, as I did, and you blame the decision entirely on the economics of the business. I disagree with your assumption that this is a fallout result of the free market.
      I am not in the media business, and do not make any claims of being an expert in this area. One thing I do know is when you make a decision based strictly on money, 99.999% of the time it is a wrong decision. I have seen this happen time after time in my life, ultimately costing money, as a current member of the 55+ demographic.
      WPGB and/or its parent company, Clear Channels, have demonstrated clearly (no pun intended) they do not understand the Pittsburgh market or it smacks of a larger agenda. Pittsburgh folks are fiercely loyal to Pittsburgh folks (I know Quinn is from Jersey, but he is an adopted son). The reason allot of us Pittsburghers listen to Rush, Beck, and the rest are because they were on the same station as Quinn and Rose. This was a poor business decision, it will end costing them money.

    • Alan, regardless of the CC poor business choices in the past that doesn’t excuse getting rid of Quinn and Rose. They had excellent ratings, I know they wouldn’t have been asking for anything to crazy in their contracts and They also were being marketed nationally. As to your demographics comment I sir am well under 55 and loved the show and listened to more than just Quinn and Rose on the station. As to your comment about not having enough young people coming to replace the older listeners you can blame our left wing indoctrination centres called public schools and universities.

    • Let the record show that this 51 year old female (not 55 yet) will no longer listen to WPGB and will try to avoid listening to Clear Channel stations. I certainly will not listen to Bloomdaddy. He tries to be too politically correct. I got more information from Quinn & Rose than any other talk show including Hannity, Beck or Rush. Quinn & Rose did there research. I hope they get back on the air in the morning time slot with possibly another radio company. I also hope and pray they blow away the competition.

      I listen to the station that carries Beck and Rush, it’s also the one that carries Bloomquist, I don’t listen to him. That station is WWVA in Wheeling. Several times a week I hear dead air, almost every day I hear commercial breaks that aren’t timed properly cutting off part of the syndicated hosts program. It’s not usual to hear two or three things running at once, commercial over top of news casts etc.
      I’m just curious as to how you geniuses at Clear Channel justify sloppy broadcasting practices such as this.
      WWVA was once a proud, successful radio station, it’s now a shell of it’s former self.
      CC moved in, fired half the staff and proceeded to run this station into the ground.
      I would be willing to bet the billing is less that half of what it was 15 years ago.
      So don’t come on here and tell us how you are interested in tweaking the demographics to maximize audience and profits. You buy stations and destroy them. WPGB is the next one to go down the tubes.

19. I no longer have a morning show to listen to. My xm has nothing else to offer. I have had my fill of clear channel too. Q&R were my favorite talk show I hope to here them soon.

    • I too used to be an XM listener for about 10 years. When they dropped Q & R, I dropped XM. They had been leaning more and more liberal all the time. Then I became a member of warroom.com. I live in Indiana, and am not happy about the events either.

20. I’m 35 years old. When I was a teenager, thanks to my public school education, I was a leftist. I started working for the family business when I was 13. One day, my dad turned on 96.9 and started listening to Quinn. At first, I hated it. The more I listened to it, the more it made sense. At 16, after studying different political views, I became a libertarian. Being a libertarian in public school was hard.But, my dad always encouraged me to stand up for my convictions in the classroom. Armed with the ammunition I received from Quinn, I became quite a thorn in the side of most of my teachers by countering their propaganda all the way through high school and college. For that I will forever be grateful.

22. Quinn and Rose are the best conservative radio talk show hosts in the nation. Although I enjoy Beck, Levin, Rush, and Hannity, Quinn has exceptional insight and he is extremely informative and entertaining. Rose adds to the show with her passion, no-nonsense, and networking skills. They are simply the best.

    Since 104.7 and Clear Channel let Quinn and Rose go, I will let 104.7 and Clear Channel go, as well, and will NEVER purchase goods or services from any of their advertisers. And, I plan to contact each advertiser to let them know why I refuse to purchase their goods or services.

    Whenever Quinn and Rose find a new home, and they will since they are talent that can not be overlooked, I’ll frequent as many of their new advertisers as I possibly can.

    We’re with you, Quinn and Rose! Can’t wait to listen to your show again!

    • I agree. I am an audiophile. I don’t listen to Rush, or Hannity. Sometimes I listen to Levin. I record play back from Q&R, everyday. Now I am a member of their site. I also listen to Roger Hedgecock, KFMB, in San Diego. I live in Indiana, and gave up my 10 year XM subscription. Jim has an insight like no other.

I have an hour commute and I need Quinn to make the miles go by in a heartbeat. Until he returns, I am filling the air with Mike Church Sirius XM Patriot Channel 125. A daily American History lesson is good. Mark Levin, on the same channel makes the evening drive a U.S. Constitution lesson. I’m looking forward to hearing the simple logic of a recovering D.J. again.

28. It seems like Quinn and Rose are the canaries in the coal mine. The powers that be will go after all of them sooner or later. This is especially since Tom Daschle’s son works for Clear Channel.

    The only way I can see them going back on the air is if Richard Mellon Scaife gives them a spot on KQV. He threw a rope to the McKeesport Daily News, so he might do the same for Quinn and Rose. Then again, does Mr. Scaife have the clout.

    It seems to me that, more than likely, Quinn will retire and Rose would go back to Cornerstone TV while working part-time for Hannity for Fox-TV. Then again, I don’t have a crystal ball.

33. The demographic for the Quinn and Rose show was “too old” for Clear Channel? What a load of horse pucky! Having been a lifelong conservative, I began my adherence to conservative radio when Rush Limbaugh first made his appearance on the airwaves, and I was in my mid-30’s. My listening tastes grew even more solid as more conservatives hosts began to appear in my local market. For a brief time, Quinn and Rose were carried by WWVA, and I was really hooked on their program! When WWVA replaced them with Bloomdaddy, I stopped listening to WWVA. When I got over the shock of hearing him on WPGB, I was dumbfounded! I won’t listen to him on the local WWVA station, why would I go to the trouble of tuning in on WPGB?

    Over the years, I have managed to listen to Q&R through the internet, and a series of headphones/additional speakers, I kept listening. I even arranged my days as much as possible to avoid appointments before 10AM so as to not miss their programming. With I<3 radio, I have been able to follow their program while in numerous locations, and I loved it! I was even pondering how to listen to them next summer when we will be in Europe. Now, the rationalization being given for their departure just doesn't sound convincing. You have lost a lot of listeners, and more are bailing ship. I look forward to their return on whatever station is smart enough to pick them up.

I hope he sheds light on the whole wretched silencing of two of the best conservative voices out there. This whole administration is nothing but a “kinder and gentler” Soviet takeover. 35. I’ve been getting up in the morning with Quinn & Rose for over 18 years. Obviously, they are far too popular and successful to stay off the air for long. While I wait for them to return, I’ll be listening to replays of the previous day’s Mark Levin show. Love Mark, but he’s no Quinn…

37. Forgive me if this has already been suggested, as I haven’t read every one of the previous comments, but this thought occurred to me…
    Maybe it really *was* a business decision. Have the ratings been dropping, and if so, why? Could it have something to do with Rose’s growing participation? Some listeners like her on-air bits, but others find them annoying. (Personally, I’d rather do without the raw appeals to emotion–too much like Glenn Beck–but that’s just me.)
    Maybe the station offered a contract renewal to Quinn *alone* or with a new partner. He, being loyal to his friend Rose, said “no deal.” That’s a possible scenario, isn’t it?
    Continuing along that same line of thought, how would Rose fit in on Beck’s show? It would be a promotion for her, and Beck’s audience would surely appreciate her style.

38. I too am totally devastated about the loss of Rose and Quinn. Quinn is really the best on conservative philosophy and ideology and infuses all of his depth with loads of humor and sarcasm. He has an ability to explain and teach that few others have and he packs his show with loads of information, and is NEVER boring, always enlightening!

41. Reading the comments of the age group that listens to Q&R.. and the fact that the younger generations are not counted as listeners… well well well.

    We that went to High School in the late 40’s and 50’s had a class called
    “CIVICS” I do not have to explain to to the Elders who miss Q&R what that
    class was all about. But in the 70’s that class suddenly went away from High School’s and the younger generations now days have no idea of the Stanchion of what those classes meant to us and to America. This is not the fault of the Younger Generations…. and the ones who took the Civics Class away, are the ones who are leading the way for more of this Liberal Cleansing of what our Forefathers brought to this Country through the Constitution…
    Letting go of Q&R to me is like the Cutting of Civics Class once again, and in my OLD AGE, Q&R kept me up to date on my Civics Education. If these classes were still in the High School Curriculum as they were taught in the 40’s and 50’s the United States of America and the Government would be By and For the people of this Country. Hurry Back Quinn and Rose…

44. Turned on my radio one morning and could not figure out why the announcer never said he was covering while they were on vacation! How could this radio station not come to agreement with their #1 morning show????? I really miss this show, I’ve been a listener for years!!! I do not tune in until 10 a.m. to listen to Glenn and that is about all I will listen to 104.7 for now.

    Anybody foolish enough to buy the “its a simple business decision” line has likely never been in business or made a business decision. It is utter foolishness to cut out a loyal base of returning and supportive customers in order to hope to attract a new younger demographic, especially in a field already competitive and filled with programming aligned to them. I would hate to be the advertising exec selling air-time to a sponsor by telling them me too! me too! WPGB now has programming for young people…..his name is bloomdaddy and he is so hip!

    Anybody with a lemonade stand will tell you that repeat customers are much easier to keep than it is to gain new customers…just don’t piss them off by taking the sugar out of the lemonade! Sure, your costs just went down, but now you have no customers…brilliant! Daschle didn’t get to where he is by being that stupid. Make no mistake this is a direct calculated attack on an effective voice of conservativism, and for a time the consequences…lower overhead…will look good on paper. Unfortunately when rating time comes around and advertisers start dropping because they see lower demographics and reduced advertising effectiveness they too will take their money elsewhere.

    Isn’t this liberal 101 though? It always works while somebody elses money is used, but can never stand alone on it’s own merits for any length of time. Eventually the folly of this decision will be seen and changes will be made, hopefully to bring Q&R back to CC and WPGB. Keep the faith Jimmy!

    • Mike – again, Nathan Daschle’s job is to sell political clients – PACs, candidates, groups of that nature – on buying ad packages across the multitude of CC properties and platforms – IHeart, local radio, nationally. He truly isn’t involved in the programming department and doesn’t make those decisions. His role is to bring CC more money – more ad dollars. Again – it’s capitalism, and his job with CC is not related to what the local stations program – as far as he’s concerned, 104.7 could be talk, country, or polka. Not his issue.

      • BTW, on a related note: CC-Denver just found a way to blow out their top-rated AM morning show talk host, pulling back a contract offer over a puffed-up “physical altercation” with another employee. He landed on his feet at a Salem station, but THIS IS WHAT CC DOES! Lose that top-rated host or pay him? Cheaper to hire another host, bonus the advertisers some extra spots and get rid of a big salary number.

      • I read an article in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette. (which was a link on your website) It said that there was no warning to several affiliates that Q&R had been taken off the air that first Monday morning. One of the station’s received a message that they had been fired. My question is if cc and Q&R were in negotiations and couldn’t reach an agreement why would this affiliate be told they were fired? Along with the statement that Q&R were not allowed to talk about it. If it was just because they couldn’t come to a contract agreement why wouldn’t they be able to talk about it? I understand business and the bottom line. But the only time I’ve known that people couldn’t discuss the facts about being fired was because the company didn’t want the real reason made public.

51. I was reading the comment from another Linda that said the Program Manager returned her call and said that talk show format was declining. Why then replace it with another talk show with one that is not popular. Any listener of Quinn and Rose will not be listening to their replacement. Q&R informed us, their replacement is dumbing us down. This has been brutal. My feelings are that Q & R would not bend to be Political Correct and that was the contract dispute.

64. I could not agree more with the post about “addiction withdrawal” in regards to my shock on November 18. Quinn and Rose are, in my opinion, the very best conservative talk show hosts on the air, and that includes Rush, Levin, etc. A perfect mix of strong analysis, commentary, and quirky “heads up” themes. Upon taking up new employment in 2011, I was actually sad that my 1 hour commute would be cut in half – they were my daily dose of sanity and entertainment and I will not be satisfied until they find a new home! 84. I don’t believe that Nathan Daschle cares very much about one local talk show that’s main broadcast area is one of the most Democratic Party dominated counties in the US. Why would Clear Channel sign Limbaugh and Hannity to long term deals, which they did this summer, and blow out Quinn and Rose over political content? Wouldn’t Mr. Daschle rather have the two national big boy scalps on his belt? It doesn’t make sense. This smells like a contract negotiation gone bad. At the end of the day another syndicated national show will probably fill the AM drive slot. It’s cheaper than local programming.

    • So if Q&R were to broadcast a syndicated show from another base (let’s say Rochester for instance), it would be more cost-effective for WPGB to air it in Pittsburgh? That would be acceptable.

85. Cannot believe that CCME did this. I listened to Quinn and Rose consistently for over 6 years. I will not listen to any morning programming on WPGB until Quinn and Rose are reinstated. My radio was locked on 104.7, well not anymore, I will give my ears and business to KDKA FM and listen to sportstalk. Not as thought provoking as “They walk among us” or a “Diversity, Racial, Obama, F&F, or Single Payer Heads Up!”, but it will have to do. Why should I care about someone out of West Virginia?

    All of the work that they did locally for charity and for soldiers is now gone. Good move, I guess we only want charity done if it is done for democrats or only promoted through the debauchery advocated by other CCME stations. I hope this decision kills the Pittsburgh market for CCME, but they do have WDVE, so that wont happen, but hey a guy can dream. Great job CCME, you made your bed, you can lie in it. I will take my ratings and money elsewhere.

89. There is obvious politics playing here. The son of Daschel is getting ready for 2014 by silencing all voices of opposition. Our governor is up for re-election in 2014. Daschel used to be the former Democratic Governors Association Executive Director. It’s all about power and control with democrats. That is why I left that party.

    • Nathan Daschle works to market advertising to PACs and political clients of all stripes. He is NOT involved in the programming selection, air talent, or local programming choices of Clear Channel radio stations… please do your homework.

90. It’s real quiet around here in the mornings without Q&R (at least until 9:00 when I settle for Laura Ingraham on my Droid). Bad business decisions get made every day, leaving a ripple effect. I wonder if the Q&R morning show advertisers were as surprised as the rest of us. They will probably be looking at their future options since the “younger” audience CC is after does NOT listen to talk radio and many can’t find well-paying meaningful jobs with disposable income to spend on advertiser products.
    I for one plan to continue supporting the advertisers that supported Q&R; before you boycott all of the Bloomdaddy sponsors, realize that like us, they are also searching for alternative programming.
    CC is suffering from internal brand competition. Too many stations in the same market (think GM – they had 9 major US car brands in 2004, now just 4). In the Pittsburgh market CC has Sports, Rock, Contemporary, Talk, Oldies and alternative, seems like that pretty well covers all the demographics. I’m not buying the younger audience argument; CC would just be diluting market share from their other stations.

99. So I spent my morning today trying to find anyone, anywhere on line or on the radio to fill my mornings——No one is there to come close to the talent of Rose and Quinn!!!

    If it’s because CLEAR CHANNEL is broke and can’t afford the best team on radio, then I can accept what Quinn has taught me over his years on radio—-that there will be some station out there in the free market (if it is still free) with the brains to hire them!!

    But if this is because they want them silenced, then it is time for all of us to realize that this country is going down—and going down big time!!

100. Quinn & Rose were by far the best talk radio show around possibly only rivaled by Rush. Jim has an uncanny instinct, coupled with his contacts that give insight that can be found on no other show. Rose is always quick to bring in Christian values something too many are ashamed of.
     CCME cites contract negotiations – my guess is they wanted to restrict them in one way or another and they refused. I can’t imagine Q&R are gone because they couldn’t reach a dollar figure. They fought the good fight and if there’s a way they will return.

     I listened to 1170AM until they dropped Q&R for Bloomdaddy. I listened on XM Radio, then when they dropped them, I dropped my subscription. I then listened to them on I Heart Radio and 104.7 in my car. I won’t be listening to 104.7 until they return. Bloomdaddy isn’t even close to their caliber!! What were you thinking CCME???
