Conservative talkers Jim Quinn and Rose Tennent (“The War Room with Quinn and Rose”) recently ended their run at CCME’s Talker WPGB-FM Pittsburgh. Since we’ve run the story (click here), there has been an overwhelming negative response to the move from Clear Channel from RBR-TVBR readers. In a statement, a CCME spokesperson told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette the station tried to reach new terms with Jim and Rose, but it was unsuccessful. The readers think it was a bit more sinister than that and are flipping mad about it.
Meanwhile, Quinn and Rose posted this statement on their website:
“The Quinn and Rose show has been on the air for 18 years with great success. Ten of those years were at 104.7. We love doing our show.
We want our listeners to know how much we have enjoyed bringing you the news every morning. We feel like we are all part of one big family. Your loyalty and support over the years has meant so much to us and we think you know that.
Please know that we appreciate each and every one of you. A morning without you is like a morning without coffee. And we HATE a morning without coffee!! You have always meant so much to us. We cannot find words adequate to express to you just how much.
As we have new information, we will keep you posted at www.warroom.com on the front page. Be sure to check in there periodically for updates.
Our commitment has been, and will always be, to conservative values and to this great country of ours.
Rest assured, we will be back on the air!

* Wow what a mistake they have made…….these two make a great morning show. A balance to all the crap that the liberal media brings. They are libertarians more than Republicans and I for one liked that about them. They will be missed until I find out where they end up. Semper Fi.

Are you kidding me? What the hell is Clear Channel thinking? Quinn and Rose made my mornings. You truly knew what was going on when you listened to them. If this was really a contract issue, Clear Channel should have tried harder. I believe this was all politically motivated to quiet the conservative viewpoint. We are now under tyrannical rule — the very thing our founders came here to get away from. God save us all.
I Would hear Quinn’s voice on the radio at 6 am and instantly wake up to hear what the topics were for the day. He and Rose we’re my morning caffeine.and my morning smiles and without them I am lost. Clear channel has no idea how much those two are loved and respected (or maybe they do and that’s why they are no longer here). I pray they find a bigger and better platform very soon!
I was worried when I tuned in and none of the regular subs were on. I thought I had accidentally bumped the dial but was disgusted to find Quinn had been removed without warning. I’ve always believed that Quinn is simply the best in the business with the best research and an uncanny ability to see into the future. He was 1 1/2 years ahead of the national media with the truth about the Fast and Furious scandal, for example. I won’t be listening to the station any longer in protest of this decision. Find a new home, Jim, and we’ll be there with you.
What was Gregg Henson thinking? He removed the Quinn and Rose show and replaced it with David Bloomquist who does nothing more than rattle on about such insignificant subjects such as how much we use cell phones these days! All the listeners will do just what I do, switch off from WPGB to find other stations that do provide programming with more important and entertaining facts and analysis. Gregg Henson, what a putts! Just watch what happens to WPGB’s ratings now. You are the one that should be removed from your work, not Quinn and Rose!
Leftist jerks respnsible for our loss. I listened to Quinn & Rose on Stitcher after my mom got me hooked. When I could not get Friday’s episode to load, I blamed Stitcher app. All weekend I tried to “fix” app so I could get my “fix”. Never thought to check the station since I never listened to them live. THEN my mom tweeted me the news Tuesday. She has listened over air waves for years. We are not shocked. The left is all about silencing opposition. There are work arounds today that did not exist in the past and I believe we will win this battle.

This has been a SAD week without Quinn & Rose. When WHLO (Akron-Canton) dropped them and then Levin, I went to stricktly listening to podcasts (in addition to Rush and sometimes Hannity). Monday when I tried to download the podcast, I was EXTREMELY disappointed to find that there was no podcast, and no Quinn & Rose. When WHLO dropped them I stopped listening to the station in the morning – what they replaced them with is BORING. I’m sure it’s the same for the station in Pittsburg. Ratings will suffer, and we suffer, just hoping that they will show up somewhere else. Their program is unique – I love Rush and Levin too, but what you hear on Quinn and Rose is like no other show, full of information, entertaining, with news that you often don’t get from anyone else.
I listened to Quinn & Rose to be updated on political news and issues. Thursday (11/21/13) when I was listening to the Station’s replacement for Quinn & Rose, the new guy was talking and talking about cell phones for children. Such talk was a waste of my time…on par with listening to NPR stories on the sex life of the teetsie fly, or some other trivial topics / stories that they air. Bring Quinn & Rose back!
Not smart, WPGB, soooo not smart. In the age of internet radio, your listeners have way too many choices for you to be pulling such popular programs. Bet you live to regret this!
I have stopped listening to the radio in the morning. There is NOTHING worth listening to if I can’t listen to Quinn and Rose. They provided a very very needed service of getting the truth out there regarding politics. The mainstream media continues to hide truths and Quinn and Rose gave us the truth and the sanity check we so desperately need every day. Quinn is ONE OF THE BEST in radio ranking right up there with Rush Limbaugh. I always thought he should be as big as Rush or Glenn Beck considering his ability to share quality information with us about so many issues in politics. WPGB has made a HUGE mistake cutting them from their morning program.
I wait hopefully that their show will be picked up by another local station (run by a smarter station manager who knows how important it is for us to hear what Quinn and Rose have to share each day). I have been a loyal listener for YEARS!!! WPGB you need your head examined for cutting their show. PLEASE BRING IT BACK IMMEDIATELY!!!
I’m pretty sure some Radio Exec at WPGB will decide he needs to “spend more time with his family” when listeners and advertisers leave WPGB like rats from a sinking ship.
No doubt money was the deciding factor in his executive decision. Too bad he made the wrong choice.
Michael Savage is always quick to point out that sports is a detraction from reality and the sports fanatics are the ones who think Ben Gazi is the Quarterback from some obscure college team. That is soon to be the WPGB morning show patron. I’m pretty sure the Lexus dealers, high-end Travel Agencies, and other premium product producers won’t be rushing in with advertising dollars.

Do you really think CC cares? I have heard many great hosts who have been canned. Some never return…some return in other venues. The only way to get to CC is thru their wallet. The advertisers need to pull their sponsorship until the return of Q&R.

WPGB and or CC blew it on this one. I started my weekdays by listening to Q & R because it is national news you don’t get anywhere else. Once tuned in, I left WPGB on all day through iHeart. Because I don’t live in PA I supported them by purchasing through their sponsors’ websites.
Now, my morning starts on XM…where do you think my purchasing power has shifted? Bring them back and tell the Fairness Doctrine loving Executive VP Daschel at Clear Channel to stop doing what his corrupt Senator daddy couldn’t accomplish through legislation.

Bad Choice clear channel. I am 38 and have listened to Quinn and Rose since they took music breaks!! Ruined my morning routine. I guess this is what is feels like when a heroin addict goes through withdrawal! I am able to listen to Rush and Beck by other means. I will remove 104.7 wpgb from my dial.
Quinn and Rose are highly intelligent and knowledgeable hosts who understood the purpose of government was only to protect private property and enforce contracts. They understood that government encumbers an economy and anytime that government does more than the purpose for which it exists it impoverishes the nation. They were a voice of reason in a cacophony of leftist propaganda from the main stream media.
I only listened to Quinn and Rose on 104.7. It was a good start to the day with a quick transfer of information. Now I’ll have to go out and find articles to read myself but i can’t do that when getting ready in the morning ot during my commute.
I stopped listening to WWVA out of Wheeling WV years ago when they dropped Q & R for that buffoon Bloomdaddy. It took me a while to find them on the internet on WPGB. I don’t live anywhere close to Pittsburgh, but it was worth listening to their local news and advertisers to get to hear Quinn again. Like so many others commenting here, I will have dead air space in the mornings until they resurface somewhere else. Worse than switching to decaf!!!
Big mistake by Clear Channel. I listened to Quinn and Rose every morning. They kept the talk fresh and gave me stories I didn’t hear anywhere else. Beck gets preachy and apocalyptic. Hannity can be repetitious. I love Rush but he tends to lecture. Quinn and Rose beat them all.
Week one of the “Radio Abyss” is over…but my upset at Clear Channel has NOT lessened.
I have been a long time Quinn and Rose listener, and I can say that their show prep and presentation on what is happening in our country was far and above THE BEST of any of the conservative talkers. Their segments were so well done and I LEARNED so much over the years from spending my morning prep & drive time with them!
That said, I DID learn from them to look at the big picture and see how all the dots connects. Clear Channel, I believe is not just bowing to political correctness, I believe they are part of a concentrated FCC “fairness” (ie censorship) doctrine to SILENCE any opposition…to the far left, statist Democratic party line. CC and WPGB is offering the modern day “bread a d circuses” ie, dumb down the masses with more “Stiller talk” with the occasional “Kardashian” updates.
Pfffft. I proudly took out my vehicle owners manual and UNDID my dial presets…NO MORE WPGB/WDVE/WSHH FOR ME! And I think today, when the nice salesman from the Shorkey Jeep dealership calls me back, I think I’ll mention I’m taking my business elsewhere…sorry, but your boss buys airtime on WPGB…EWWW!

Monday when I tuned in I heard Someone who I thought called himself Bloomdaddy talking sports. He was terrible, & there are too many boring sports shows on the air now so I switched stations, eventually turning the radio off.
The next morning I tuned in again, & found out the guy’s name was Bloomdaddy. I tried to listen, but I was getting nauseated, & turned the radio off again.
Wednesday he was on again, & I thought what a lousy vacation replacement, so I went to the Warroom website to complain about the lousy replacement. That’s when I discovered that Quinn& Rose were removed permanently from 104.7. I will no longer tune in between 6 & 10.
When the reason given was that it was over money, I said Yeah Right! The reason is political The show was shut down because it was getting too close to the truth about what this administration is doing to our Country. Think Chicago Politics.
In tribute to Quinn&Rose my radio will be silent from 6 until 10.
It’s very disappointing that Clear Channel could not re-negotiate “terms” with Quinn and Rose. This show has been one of the greatest in our country, and they have stood with true Americans everywhere to bring us the REAL news, and have been fighting the Liberal INSANITY every day!
I will also no longer listen to WPGB, and hope that Quinn and Rose will get on another station soon, even if it’s AM. They deserve to be kept on the air, as there are millions of us conservatives who agree with them, and are sick and tired of the way this country is falling apart before our eyes, due to liberalism.

They took Q&R off WWVA and put the BLOOMING IDIOT on instead. Can you imagine my disappointment when I heard him on WPGB. What a disservice to us. I hope that when Q&R come back, they will be on a station strong enough to reach Wheeling.
I doubt there will be a way to fill the void left by Quinn & Rose. Their humor and insight are priceless. I don’t want to think their conservative political views played a part in their demise but I still wonder. If the issue is money, I’m sure they bring in enough money to make having them on the air a good business deal. That’s the only two reasons I can imagine would cause this, money or politics. I’ve listened to them and no longer listen to WPGB during that time slot. “Bloom Daddy” may be good in West Virginia but Pittsburgh is a different market. He just isn’t even remotely entertaining or as insightful as Quinn and Rose. BRING THEM BACK ON THE AIR!

I’ve been a listener for about 8yrs & absolutely luv the show.Having a Pittsburgh conservative talk show always made me feel I wasn’t alone living here. I would listen to 104.7 from 7am-6pm everyday. Now I will not even turn this station on out of principle. They had extremely high ratings so I was completely confused when I tuned in & had no idea who I was hearing or what was happening. I just want to say I support you both & will be a listener again when you hit the air again. Totally ridiculous!! I’ve been listening to Quinn & Rose for years and will switch to whatever channel they will be on in the future! I too thought they were just on vacation and didn’t even know there was a remote possibility of them being pulled off the air. People, we need to take our media back from the left wing liberal supporters or next to be cut will be Glenn Beck, Rush and Hannity!
I too am not using I heart radio anymore. I have been listenibg to
Q & R for almost a decade. First in Rochester, NY then on WPGB after
moving to PA. This was a shocking development! Their ratings were high
and they told the truth in a way that anyone could understand.
It does seem Clear channel moves in and wipes out conservative hosts
as a first item – they did the same to Doug Urbanski. I will lusten to no show
during their time slot. Hoping a station who wants a show
with excellent ratings and great sponors signs them up soon!
Adding my voice to those expressing dismay, followed by some real anger at the loss of Quinn & Rose. They presented the truth of conservatism along with some much-needed humor, and made the show both informative and entertaining. Their advertisers will not support the weak replacement who’s now on the air in that slot. Thanks to other posters for identifying other Clear Channel connections; I’ll be sure to drop them all.
Really bad mistake to drop Quinn and Rose! They brought “behind the scenes” commentary on current events that we otherwise would not know. Hurry back, morning is just not the same.
This is truly sad. I won’t be listening to WPGB or Clear Channel again. I will listen to Hannity and Rush else where. I really enjoyed listening to Quinn and Rose who ARE true American Patriots. I cannot believe that Clear Channel and WPGB threw Quinn and Rose and all their listeners under the bus. Whatever they are paying the program director or whoever makes these executive decisions, it is too much. You get what you pay for.
Never fear my friends. Jim and Rose will be back. It is my belief that they already have a new contract in place with another broadcaster. I think that Jim and Rose had better offers from other syndicators and that Clear Channel couldn’t match the other offer. Bettin’ they are back in 30 days…..stay tuned!

I was thrilled to have found Q&R when we first moved to the area 10 years ago and have been listening to 104.7 ever since. NO more; I am done. I also canceled my subscription to XM. This is a huge mistake for WPGB and Clear Channel because Q&R will be back and this will make them stronger. I will listen to my favorite talkers in a different manner. Oh yeah, good luck with the yawner replacement.
What a disappointment in the removal of the Quinn and Rose show from 104.7 WPGB! I have been listening to their show for over a decade and can’t believe 104.7 would replace such a top rated program for the garbage you replaced them with. Please bring back the Quinn and rose show. You have lost a loyal listener! Not coming back till you bring back Quinn and Rose!
A somewhat recent convert, I also am saddened by this impasse. As many have stated clear channel alternatives I will actively seek for all the programing I enjoy.
I expect that the demand will result in a new contract with them and 104.7.

I was sick on Monday when I heard that Quinn & Rose would no longer be on 104.7 They both are truly remarkable good people doing their best to educate and enlighten us on what is really going on in this country. This is a disgrace and part of the plan to silence conservatives! Haven’t they realized yet that no matter what they do we will not be silenced. I believe that God has bigger and better things in store for Quinn & Rose and we will know what that is soon. I will no longer be listening to 104.7 on the radio or clear channel. The radio industry will suffer because of this. I will still be getting the truth from Sean, Rush & Glenn, because the truth will set us free and the truth has no agenda! There is always i-heart radio and The Blaze Radio Network. Thank you Quinn & Rose! If 104.7 will bring them back then the listeners will return.
If I find out that 104.7 caved in to liberal whining advocacy groups and dismissed Quinn and Rose, 104.7 will be gone from my dial. I can always pick up Beck, Rush, and Hannity on other stations. It seems as though 104.7 is hurting themselves with their new format–Bloom tells us about Bruce Jenner’s plastic surgery–I could care less. What has happened to 104.7?–no Michael Savage and now no Quinn and Rose.The Liberals control every other venue–let Conservatives have their voice.
So I guess the next step is to officially boycott 104.7 and perhaps contact its sponsors? Perhaps we should contact the GM at 104.7 or the higher ups at Clear Channel? I have listened to Quinn for as long as he has been on the radio and my eyes were opened (politically) around the same time his were. I recently retired from 38 years in the ironworkers union and waking up to Q&R was the highlight of my morning. They were the perfect mixture of God, politics, news, and humor. Thanks again Clear Channel for ruining my mornings with Bloom daddy???????? I don’t know what the story is with Nathan Daschle but if he’s a chip off the old block known as Tom, this doesn’t surprise me. Ever notice how eerily similar Tom Daschle and Harry Reed are in their speech patterns? I’m just sayin’

It is with my extreme astonishment, and disappointment, that I have found out this morning that Quinn and Rose were replaced in the morning. I tune in Monday through Friday every week. I thought they may have been out on vacation. Their replacement is far from Quinn, and Rose’s superior show. Each morning this week, I have been tuning in to the Blaze Radio Network instead. Removing the top rated Quinn, and Rose show was not a wise business decision. Please reconsider, and put them back on in Pittsburgh. If they remain off the air, you will be losing a lot of listeners. You will find me turned in for now at “The Blaze”.
I wondered why I suddenly was listening to some clown talk about the NFL instead of real news and quickly changed the channel. Guess it’s changed forever.
I was in OK for a job interview and turned on Quinn to get pumped up. No Quinn… I immediately looked on WPGB’s website and Q&R were already removed. I had to stop thinking about it until after my interview as I didn’t want to get fired up over what I surmised as them being fired.
I first started listening in 2002 after NPR ticked me off for the last time with their Left-Leaning junk. In a short amount of time I found people that thought like I did and that I was not alone! Yes that’s right you Liberals, we are not brain-dead drones. Rather we listen because Q&R are our voice!

Been a loyal listener since the WRRk days back in 98, JQ taught me what conservatism is all about. This will prove Quinn’s first law “that liberalism generates the exact opposite of its stated intent”. Their ratings will plunge. Low ratings = low advertisment = low revenue. Want proof? Air America.
104.7 WAS #1 on my preset dial strictly for Q&R, it has been completely removed since their is no need for Bloomdaddy or 104.7 anymore.

Quinn and Rose gone from WPGB! What a nasty surprise. Their show was a nice blend of conservative politics and classic morning show vibe. I listened to the new offering, Bloomdaddy, for a bit. He seems like a nice guy, but the show sounds like humorless local talk; nowhere near the quality that Quinn and Rose provided. I’ll find something else to listen to in the morning, not WPBG, until the War Room finds a new home.
I will no longer listen to Clear Channel. I will now only listen to Catholic radio in the morning. I cannot wait for someone else to pick up Quinn and Rose.

After they already dropped Savage, you have to be kidding yourself if you believe this was just not being able to come to terms on a contract. But don’t kid yourself further by thinking they will care about your complaints. The only way you will make a difference is to contact the sponsors advertising on 104.7 and tell THEM you intend to boycott their product or service until they stop advertising on 104.7.
Just another fine example of trying to silence any opposing views. I will no longer be listing to this station, so all you advertisers should start “talking” with your wallets and take your business elsewere.
Look forward to their return somewhere soon. Great show in the morning I will miss them. I was pleased to hear Mark Levin on their program covering his book the liberty amendments. Which is a great read and holds the potential to many of our current problems. But will take a while to implement and try some of the proposals give to us right in the Constitution. That told me that Quinn and rose were spot on. Many times covering what the main stream media thought wrong and misguided. (mike lee and ted cruse as examples) But just like Rush,Levin and Beck, Quinn and Rose turned out to be right. Maybe that is why they were removed. They covered the truth and were informing/waking up to many people. Cruz and Lee either one would be a great team for president and vp. (Prefer cruz pres and lee vp.) Another great one would be Sara Palin. But that is a side note. Going to listen to Beck/Limbaugh and Levin on the Dallas station WBAP on I heart. The heck with WPGB.
The handwriting is on the wall. An extremest democrat appointed VP of Political programming on Clear Channel? Anyone with half a brain knows what this is all about;get rid of those who tell the truth, ie Q & R and replace them with a propaganda machine like Isvestia or Pravda. Can the end be far away?
I’ve been listening to Q&R for all of their 18 yrs on the radio. I’ve met the two of them at one of their many events. What I’ve gathered from those few moments of talking to the both of them are. They are really two sincere people who believe in what they are doing. They care about and love this country. They both want the listeners to know the truth. Yes, sometimes they are entertainers and abit over the top. So is Rush and Mike Savage. The thing is we tuned in to them because we believe what they believe. I think we can come to the same conclusion that this is more political than monetary. I don’t think for one second that Q&R are greedy. Should they be fairly compensated for what they do? Yes, because their ratings would support it. Ratings = cash. If clear channel decides they don’t want to renew the contract, their loss. Someone else who sees the dollar value in bringing them aboard for the ratings etc will reap the benefits! Is that not what capitalism is all about in America? Your loss WPGB! And if this your future of the way to do things Clear Channel, may you end up on the Ash Heap of poor business decisions.

Clear Channel and WPGB FM 107.4 radio have made a BIG mistake. Do they think #QinnandRose fans will not revolt? Wrong! WPGB is dead air as far as I am concerned. What the heck were they thinking! I’m suspicious that it more liberal media assault on conservatism. CC tried to play it off that they could not reach agreement with the Morning Team but I suspect it is more sinister than they are saying. Regardless of what the Team wanted in financial compensation I sure is far better than the revenue generation they are left with. Quinn and Rose generated a very large revenue stream for them therefore I suspect it is another politically inspired liberal temper tantrum. Another liberal media outlet looking for a chance to squelch conservative opinion. I will not be surprised that many of their advertisers will continue supporting a decision made on politics rather than good sound fiscal thinking. Good Buy WPGB FM it’s been a nice 18 years. You have chosen to take the route of irrelevance that KDKA took when it dumped RUSH.
I have listened to Qiunn & Rose every morning open my way to work for the last five years.. The show was informative and entertaining. I will miss them. Iam certain some station picks them up soon. Big Mistake WPGB and clear channel.Until them I will tune to another station.
Jeeze! come on clear channel. There has to be some middle ground that you and Quinn and Rose can agree on a contract. They have something that a lot of people enjoy listening to and tune into to get some very important info. Quinn has been in this business for a long time. (ever wonder why)? Rose compliments him and the show so well. She is the only female radio host that sounds like a unscripted voice that reminds me so much of my wife and other women. The main reason I tune in is to hear them both go at it and she leaves Quinn with his head spinning.
I used to listen to 104.7 all day as I did my work, beginning at 5am Wall Street and even the many “special” Coast to Coast broadcasts.
I can no longer stomach turning ANYTHING on that station! I will listen to Glenn Beck through the Blaze as well as Coast to Coast (by subscription).

Either way the loss of Quinn and Rose is momumental to Pittsburgh. Quinn has been here forever (remember 13Q?) and Rose has been here long enough to claim her own spot. The guy replacing them couldn’t carry their water. What a jerk. Now we have NO conservative voice in Pittsburgh left. WoW! Thanks CCME. You have lost yet another customer and listener. WHat a Putz move. Third graders could run that ststion better. Just wish someone would realize the truth is the ONLY thing that matters. Quinn and Rose knew it. I believe what happened was Jim was talking about Obamadontcare and said “This is a law you should disobey” and the FCC called Clear Channel and you can guess the rest. He also talked about the FCC and what skull duggery they were up to on Thursday…
I sent a note to WPGB letting them know about this mistake as well. I listened to that Bloomdaddy tool for about 10 minutes before I realized he wasn’t filling in for Q&R. I think what tipped me off was the entire time he was talking about having little league baseball players wear helmets while playing in the field. What a waste of time. Goodbye WPGB.
I almost cancelled my XM Radio subscription when Clear Channel and Quinn & Rose were dropped in October. Glad I didn’t. Now I’m getting used to Mike Church on XM as well as flipping over to Fox News. Hopefully Q&R will be back on air in a market that includes Pittsburgh. I can say with certainty that WPGB FM 104.7 has lost a loyal 10 year listener. I used to listen to 104.7 on the way home from work to catch Hannity but now I listen to him only on XM.

Please put Quinn and Rose back on WPGB. I tried listening to Bloomdaddy for 4 days and did not like his show. I have to wonder which Idea Person came up with replacing a good show. If they don’t come back, I will set my dial on another station. Thank you for considering this matter.

WPGB will learn the same lesson as did the advertisers who pulled their accounts after Rush made his comments about Sandra Fluke. They were replaced instantly with advertisers on Rush’s long waiting list in line and, thereafter, lost a large share of business. Ask Carbonite about it. Quinn and Rose will end up on Sirius and be a nationwide hit.
i hope you’re right, though if they were taken off the air before the terms of those contracts expired and the unlimited powers that be are holding them to those contracts (without a microphone), they’ve essentially silenced them at least until their contracts end (and i’m sure they’ve already been black listed by (un)fairness doctrine apparatchiks). quinn was as tough on the rinos as he was democrats and the rinos are allied with unlimited gov’t democrats against critics…thanks to dingy and our feckless pushover, mcconnell, in the senate, don’t expect help from congress or the courts anymore.
I haven’t listened to Q & R for some time now. Not surprised to hear this news at all. I see Clear Channel isn’t really concerned either. So they lose a few thousand listeners. Good thing most of them will tune into one of the other fine radio stations that Clear Channel owns.
No more 104.7 for me! I’ll find Rush, Sean and Beck somewhere else. Hope the station’s ratings tank. I’m sure it will. Hang in there Rose and Quinn! Please, please, let us know when and where you will pop up next.
I will no longer listen to ANY Clear Channel stations while listening to Rush, Beck, Hannity, Levin, or any other music stations…..I will find a station which IS NOT Clear Channel to do my listening. Hopefully Quinn and Rose will get picked up by a non-Clear Channel station.

I have been a loyal listener of Jim’s for 20 years, going back two stations ago when he was mixing political commentary with classic rock. I will be a loyal listener and supporter of sponsors of Jim and Rose wherever they end up next too.
I’ve litened to Q&R for 1-1/2 hr a day, for what is it, 18-20 years? It took 5 mon of Bloomdaddy, or whatever his name is, to turn off the radio. Just waiting to program a new button on the radio. Good luck Quinn & Rose, get back soon!
This is a station that STILL HAS……Hannity, Rush, and Glenn Beck. To think that this was “politically motivated” shows a level of paranoia a qualified mental health expert would only DREAM of seeing. Give it up people. This was a money issue. Stop being the “liberals” you drone on about and assuming you have a “right” to something. This was about MONEY and a contract. Get off the tower, put down the M16….its gonna be okay.
This is a station which has ALREADY DROPPED …. Jerry Doyle and Michael Savage. Who’s to say Glenn Beck isn’t next? Or Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity — or all three? Nathan Daschle, previously Executive Director of the Democratic Governors Association, only became Clear Channel’s EVP for Political Strategy in June 2013 — change takes time…
The jury is still out Jake… we’ll see if the rest of the conservative talkers on WPGB get their contracts renewed when it comes time for them to expire. Until then, I’ll remain skeptical. I have trouble believing their contractual demands were so great, as to justify cutting them loose… I’d love to see the numbers. I for one, have removed 104.7, and the rest of the Clear Channel stations from my radio dial… I’ll be listening to FROGGY95… I don’t care what their reason is, it was a bad decision.

Lets think about this. Progressives ie socialists want to totally control every aspect of American peoples lives. You start by trying to silence the opposition thus removing one at a time those with opposing views. A Progressive takes an executive position at Clear Channel and Quinn and Rose disappear. Harry Reid despises any opposition to his liberal agenda and with Obama’s blessing uses the nuclear option to basically neuter any conservative opposition. Remember what Quinn says, that there is not 1 time in history where Liberalism and Socialism didn’t end at gunpoint.
Bad, bad business decision on the part of Greg Henson and Clear Channel. I’ve called the CC execs and our local station to let them know I will not be listening to any of their stations in Pittsburgh. As for Quinn and Rose, I hope they’re in the process of arranging for a new broadcast venue to get info to their legions of loyal listeners. There is really no substitute for Quinn and Rose in the morning, so for now, I’m trying the Blaze and classical music on WQED. I repeat, I will never tune in to a Clear Channel station in Pittsburgh again. I hope all potential and existing advertisers are aware of CC’s stupidity and close their accounts. For WPGB and Clear Channel , may you go the way of Air America.

You always learn most about what’s happening at the top when you dive to the bottom: Just look at Nathan Daschle, Clear Channel’s EVP for Political Strategy, is also co-founder, with Ray Glendening (sound familiar? Dig even deeper, you may find one or even two links that identify Ray as the son of former Maryland Governor Parris Glendening — or maybe not…), of Ruck.us, “a community of people fighting for the causes you believe in.” According to the Ruck.us About Us page (never fear, you don’t *have* to sign up to see it), Daschle is the former Executive Director of the Democratic Governors Association, and Glendening was its National Political Director. Is it that hard to figure out why Clear channel “couldn’t agreee to contract terms” with Quinn and Rose?
this is getting too scary, i don’t know if i’m paranoid, but it seems they also mess with internet streams for conservative talk stations, where the stream is often broken / chopped and commercial breaks most always saturated with the most inane and moronic gov’t advertising.
i expect their appointments are another workaround for enacting the (un)fairness doctrine without passing it.
The “messing with” is due to AFTRA demanding extra royalties to talent if their ads are simulcast on the internet.
So instead, streaming stations use PSAs to fill that time. It’s nothing to do with a government mandate and everything to do with the group owners not wanting to pay insane amounts of money to simply simulcast an ad online.
Like everyone else on this list, I was shocked and dismayed to discover that Jim and Rose were no longer on the air. I listened to 104.7 all day and long into the night. Last night at 2:00 AM they had programming on talking about how global warming was killing the moose herd in the northern states of our country. I would not at first believe that the removal of Quinn and Rose was politically motivated, but it does seem suspicious that this change is being made.
When do Hannity and Limbaugh and Beck have their contracts with Clear Channel expire? Look for them to go the same route as Quinn and Rose.
Jim used to say to those who complain about Wal-Mart that someday someone else will build a better mousetrap than Wal-Mart, and that then they would be the retail king. Well someday, someone else will wise up and realize that conservative talk is really the money-maker. They will then enjoy the success that 104.7 used to enjoy.
Liberal Radio cannot compete because those that listen to Liberal Radio are the freeloaders in our society. We conservatives are the workers and the ones who have the money and the financial resources in our country. That is until the liberals figure out a way to steal it from us. Hurry back Jim and Rose.
I’ve listened to Quinn & Rose nearly every weekday morning for ten years now. I hate it when they go on vacation. I will be changing my listening channel for my morning drives.
