The FCC’s announcement of its Congressionally-mandated periodic look into media ownership rules and regulations has officially been published in the Federal Register.
That opens up the field for comments, and sets an initial deadline of 7/12/10.
Reply comments must be filed two weeks after that, on 7/26/10. The proceeding is a notice of inquiry.
The title of the inquiry, proving once again that efficient use of the language is of little concern to the bureaucratic community, is “2010 Quadrennial Regulatory Review – Review of the Broadcast Ownership Rules and Other Rules Adopted Pursuant to Section 202 of the Telecommunications Act of 1996.”
