MIRAMAR, FLA. — There’s a new VP of News at the NBCUniversal Owned Station serving the Miami-Fort Lauderdale market.
It’s a woman who joined “NBC 6” in September 2015 as the executive producer of investigations and was the Asst. News Director since September 2018.
Now in the role at WTVJ-6 in Miami is Dawn Clapperton, who reports directly to President/GM Jorge Carballo.
“Dawn has an unquestionable work ethic, journalistic experience and integrity,” Carballo said. “She has done an exceptional job as NBC 6’s Assistant News Director and I’m confident that she and our outstanding news team will elevate our news content to new heights.”
Clapperton added, “Our commitment to delivering exceptional journalism that is compelling and informs and empowers our South Florida audiences, remains the driving force behind what we do.”
Before joining WTVJ, Clapperton served as Executive Producer of Special Projects for The E.W. Scripps Co.’s NBC affiliate serving Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast, WPTV-5.
From April 2005-September 2013, she was Executive Producer of Special Projects and Investigations for WISH-8 in Indianapolis, then a LIN Media station and a CBS affiliate.
