Proshop Radio enters Cheyenne market

SoldLarry Proietti is setting up shop in Cheyenne WY with an AM and FM station, coming in a pair of deals with frequent trader Victor A. Michael Jr. Proietti’s Proshop Radio Broadcasting LLC is already a family affair.


The stations are KYOY-FM Hillsdale WY and KRAE-AM Cheyenne. The stations’ programming tapers from one to the other, with KRAE handling hits of the 50s and 60s, whle KYOY starts in the 60s and also includes titles from the 70s and 80s.

The total investment for Proietti will be $150K, almost all of which will be paid over time. The FM is going for $100K with $95K covered via promissory note; and the AM is going for $50K with $45K covered by a note.

Proietti is listed as GM and AM driver, and children Nick and Marissa are also on staff.

KRAE is a Class D on 1480 kHz with 1 kW-D, 72 W-N, ND. KYOY is a Class C3 on 92.3 MHz with 12 kW @ 144’. Its primary contour covers the area just east of Cheyenne – but its secondary coverage does get into the municipality.
