Premion Welcomes A Political Sales Head

NEW YORK — Premion, TEGNA’s Connected TV and OTT advertising platform for regional and local advertisers, is welcoming a Head of Political Sales.


With extensive experience in convergent linear and Connected TV sales, he joins Premion from Freewheel, where he served as North American Head of Sales of Demand Ad Tech.

 

Effective immediately, Al Behmoiras will lead Premion’s political sales efforts, drive new business development, and manage relationships with political agencies and consultants.

“As we gear up for a busy 2024 election season, we anticipate substantial growth in both total political ad spending and the share allocated to CTV,” said John Vilade, Head of Sales at Premion. “As we continue to compete and win in a convergent linear + CTV marketplace across direct and programmatic sales, Al is a valuable addition and will play a pivotal role as we set our Election 2024 strategy in motion.”

During his tenure at Freewheel, Behmoiras led the convergence of linear and Connected TV sales products and grew the linear political agency client list from a 4% market share to a  95% market share. Additionally, he played a pivotal role in the development and sales of ad tech tools designed to unite linear TV and cable audiences.

Before this role, he dedicated over 11 years to Freewheel as Senior Manager of Political & Independent Agencies. Prior to that, he spent nearly three years of experience at Reuters in sales roles.
