NEW YORK — FOX News is moving ahead with a new media expansion effort that includes a licensing agreement with the “Ruthless” podcast which will be aligned with the division’s existing roster of on-demand audio offerings.
This will see FOX News Digital‘s President and Editor-in-Chief add New Media to his role, reporting to FOX News Media CEO Suzanne Scott.
This means Porter Berry has additional duties under his purview as President/Executive Editor Jay Wallace maintains his Digital responsibilities.
Berry will lead all editorial strategy for FOX News Media’s digital, social, and opinion podcast platforms and continue to oversee news coverage, original reporting and content innovation across FOX News Digital while managing all cross-functional teams spanning editorial, social, video and podcasts. He will also lead the strategic development and oversight of AI-powered tools across Digital and New Media, with an emphasis on enhanced editorial decision making.
Berry commented, “I am honored to step into the New Media role and advance Suzanne’s bold vision across digital, social, and podcasting. As the creator economy continues to evolve — a spirit that Ruthless has championed from the start — we are expanding our reach to meet audiences wherever they engage with FOX News Media content, which remains in a league of its own.”
“Ruthless” is co-hosted by public affairs and digital advocacy consulting firm Cavalry’s founding partners Josh Holmes, Michael Duncan and John Ashbrook as well as Shashank Tripathi, pseudonymously known as “Comfortably Smug.” As part of the new licensing deal, Holmes, Duncan, Ashbrook, and “Comfortably Smug” will serve as FOX News contributors.
Berry was named VP/Editor-in-Chief of FOX News Digital in 2018. He was later promoted to Executive Vice President in 2021 and then named President of the platform at the end of 2023.
John Sylvester, who currently serves as the Senior Vice President of FOX News Audio, will continue to oversee editorial, production and operations for news-based podcasts. He will also oversee operations and production for the opinion podcasting arm and for both FOX News Radio and Sirius XM Fox News Headlines (on Channel 115).
