It’s an evening recognizing the LGBTQ+ community and celebrates organizations creating a more inclusive and equal world. Performances from top recording artists are a part of the event scheduled for June 15, and it’s thanks to the nation’s No. 1 linear media advertiser and the biggest owner of radio stations in the U.S.
The 2023 “Can’t Cancel Pride” celebration is on schedule for the iHeartRadio Theater Los Angeles, thanks to a renewed partnership between Procter & Gamble Co. and iHeartMedia.
The event is part of the Pride Month celebrations taking place across the nation. “Can’t Cancel Pride” was started during the COVID-19 pandemic in reaction to the cancellation of many Pride events due to health concerns.
Today, it is in its fourth year, and the 2023 L.A. event will focus on the achievements of the past, the urgency of the present moment, and the hope for the future of the LGBTQ+ community. The show will explore how leaders of the past addressed LGBTQ issues and provided the foundation for change; how advocates are expanding opportunities today; and how the next generation is building the groundwork for a safe, equitable and joyous future.
In its first three years, “Can’t Cancel Pride” has raised over $11.4 million for six diverse LGBTQ+ charitable organizations, GLAAD, The Trevor Project, National Black Justice Coalition, SAGE, Centerlink, OutRight International. In 2022 alone, Can’t Cancel Pride reached nearly 20 million viewers and listeners.
Since its inception, the annual benefit special has brought together some of the biggest names in culture and entertainment and has included performances from Ben Platt, Bebe Rexha, Katy Perry, Kylie Minogue, Leslie Odom Jr., Melissa Etheridge, P!NK, Ricky Martin and Carla Morrison, Sia and Troye Sivan.
The event will stream on iHeartRadio’s YouTube and Facebook pages as well as iHeartRadio’s PrideRadio.com, Revry, The Roku Channel and The Advocate Channel from 8pm Eastern on June 15. Ticket information for those in Los Angeles can be found here.
