There’s a new President for Katz Digital Video, the division within national ad sales operation Katz Media Group.
It’s an individual who first began his career in media sales in 1984, as a radio and television specialist working for President Reagan’s reelection campaign.
Earning the bump up in responsibilities is Doug Pfaff. He will continue reporting to Katz Television Group President Leo MacCourtney.
In his newly expanded role, Pfaff, who rises from EVP/Brand Partnerships and Development, will lead digital video strategy and partnership integrations for Katz. He will also represent Katz in initiatives to improve brand safety and digital standards.
With more than 25 years of media sales experience, Pfaff has helped develop and build Katz’s digital video solutions across a wide portfolio of OTT + LIVE streaming platforms. Under Pfaff’s leadership, Katz launched the marketplaces Katz OTT, Katz Live and Katz News Network.
“As Katz continues to evolve along with the media landscape, we are thrilled to have Doug driving the expansion of our digital video portfolio to provide advertisers and agencies new opportunities to integrate their brands into content,” Katz Media Group CEO Mark Gray said.
MacCourtney added, “Doug brings a high level of digital expertise and in-depth knowledge of how digital video ecosystems operate, furthering Katz’s competitive advantage to help client’s growth in a platform world.”
Prior to joining Katz in August 2017, Pfaff was Regional VP at Fox, working for its film, TV and sports entities in a chief sales role.
From May 2006-April 2008, Pfaff served as VP/Director of Sales at Blair Television, rising from Group Sales Manager.
Earlier in his career, Pfaff was a local Account Executive for WOLF-TV in Wilkes Barre-Scranton. He also served as a radio and TV presidential campaign assistant for Reagan/Bush 1984.
