There’s a big cola brand out there that wants thirsty consumers to consider its array of drinks this summer, and it has taken to radio spots to stamp this message in the minds of shoppers across the U.S.

It’s not Coca-Cola, but its big longtime rival.

In last week’s Media Monitors Radio Spot Ten report, Pepsi zoomed from No. 64 to No. 9, thanks to the airing of 20,421 commercials.

The effort makes Pepsi-Cola the lone beverage brand in the Spot Ten.

Otherwise, there was no change at the top … again. The Home Depot stays in first place, while advertising stalwart GEICO remains at No. 3.

Also actively using radio for the week are McDonald’s, AutoZone and Burger King.
