The town’s population is officially 233, and serves as a collection point for barley and sugar beets grown in the area. Now, thanks to Nazifa Sawez and the FCC, it is poised to get a brand-new FM radio station.

Who is the buyer? Look no further than noted media broker Larry Patrick, as his daughter, presently in a Ph.D. program at the University of Toronto, is poised to become a licensee.

Coming soon to Wyoming’s Big Horn Basin is a Class C FM at 94.5 MHz that Skye Media will serve as the licensee of.

Patrick tells RBR+TVBR that Skye Media is 100% owned by his daughter, presently in Canada’s biggest city, but believed owning a station was a great idea.

The company’s name is in honor of the dog owned by Patrick’s daughter, which is named Skye.

Patrick’s plan for the forthcoming FM station was officially presented to the public by Sawez, the Assistant Chief the Audio Division of the FCC’s Media Bureau, on December 1 in a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking.

With no counterproposals or other comments, the FM table of allotments is being amended to allow the new FM to be constructed, and eventually serve the small town.

Ralston is 18 miles away from Cody, Wyo., and the new station will join a mix of FMs including those owned by Larry Patrick’s Legend Communications and the Oliphant family.
