WASHINGTON, D.C. — By local standards, it was just another day in the District of Columbia, with the biggest talking point the summerlike 80-degree reading at 4pm ahead of a forecast high of 47 on Saturday. For the advocacy group Free Press, a “protest” of FCC Chairman Brendan Carr was the big headline.


But was it just more political theater in an era full of magpie performances, vitriolic verbosity and throwing shade for the sport of it?
