0

U.S. CongressThe House Subcommittee on Communications and Technology will be conducting the latest FCC oversight hearing Tuesday 7/28/15 at 10:15 AM eastern. Chairman Tom Wheeler will represent Democrats and Commissioner Ajit Pai will represent Republicans at the hearing.

FCC process reform is near and dear to subcommittee Chair Greg Walden (R-OR) and will be part of the hearing.

Also on the docket: the incentive auction. The Subcommittee is concerned about the sudden changes in the way the duplex gap is being handled and Wheeler’s desire to push through with changes over the objections of stakeholders.

The Subcommittee also plans to address concerns about interference along the Canadian and Mexican borders.

An individual with an interest in LPTV noted to RBR+TVBR the lack of any mention on the fate of the service in the auction process.

Also on the table for discussion: rules concerning making licenses available to eligible entities and the invocation of Title II to enforce the principles of net neutrality.
